Presenting my curated list of 10 essential books every Malawian should read. These works should be compulsory in secondary education to combat ignorance and foster intellectual growth. Ensuring our youth are well-read is crucial for a knowledgeable and humble nation. 📚 #Malawi
It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest.--Adam Smith
Over decades, Malawi has received billions in aid, yet poverty persists. The harder question isn’t whether aid works, but who benefits from keeping poverty as an industry. Today, I dig into the uncomfortable economics of the 'poverty industrial complex.' https://t.co/n2ckl14kG9
@plantloop Apart from thieving and sending thugs to beat up protestors, what did MCP achieve? MCP is incapable of anything else apart from self destruction
Dear #Malawi, we need a painful but honest national conversation about the continued killings of people with albinism. Also, we must confront an uncomfortable question many are afraid to ask: why do these attacks so often seem to escalate whenever the DPP returns to power?
Took this photo of Lucius Banda at Mavuto & Flora Ngwirinjiri's wedding at Shire Highlands Hotel in Limbe. We eventually used another photos from the event on the cover of his 'Time'
album.. cover design by Dave 'Saps' Sapuwa
And my friend Chippie Phone had accompanied me to meet Lucius at one of his performances at Club 247 when he took this photo.. We used the photo for the 'Thank You' cover and I think Chippie designed the rework as well
And this, we had driven down the Thyolo road because he wanted me to help him write a song so we needed a quiet place from the madding crowds. So we parked just across that scenic dam by the tea estates. We didn't write no song that day. But we did the next day....
And this is one of my favourite photos of Lucius, taken by my friend @thekimpho during a Sand Festival media event at @MalawiSun. For all his last 10 albums, I can tell you the context of each cover photo and the story behind it. Zikomo
@ChizumaMartha thank you Martha. these are the conversations that we should have as Malawians and as countries that continually ship our most able-bodied youths out of the country. Blaming South Africa is lazy and does not solve the core issues at the root of this crisis.
South Africa must confront its xenophobia honestly & decisively before it mutates. But the rest of Africa must also confront an equally uncomfortable truth: failed governance is helping manufacture the migration crisis that xenophobic movements feed upon.

Dear #Malawi, is it just me or are @Airtel_Mw & @alwayswithyoumw now treating mobile data like fine perfume? One minute you buy a bundle, the next minute it has evaporated into the atmosphere. 🤔
I’m convinced these networks quietly adjusted the data rates while we were asleep.
South African border authorities have intercepted drugs worth K120 billion coming from #Malawi. A country where hospitals have no drugs, universities have no funding, industries are collapsing, but somehow the narcotics economy is booming. Disturbingly interesting.
