Maybe we should have people who support conversion therapy and anti-vaxxers go live on an island together so they can needlessly torture one another until they die of curable diseases.
Ladies and gentlemen, give it up to the 2019 Mustang Nation Basketball Team. Thanks Boosters, Parents, Managers, Coaching Staff and the Men Of The Hardwood!
So please, try this. The next time someone you know comes out or a friend tells you their child has come out to them, react like it’s great news. Tell them how happy you are for them. Tell them you love gay people and that you love them, without using the word “still.”
I’m not asking people to pretend to be enthusiastic for the sake of their child. I’m asking people to change the way they think about this so they can actually *be* enthusiastic for the sake of their child.
Why wouldn’t we congratulate a family who just discovered there’s a gay person in it? Gay people are great! That family just got a thousand times better.
[Thread] We’re getting much better as a whole at responding to people who are coming out. Even 15 years ago gay people were being disowned from their families in much greater numbers. But while we’re getting better at this, we still have a long way to go. Here are some thoughts:
This is so important. Who are we to think it’s our right to change anyone anyways? If your child tells you they are gay and your first instinct is electroshock therapy, then we can no longer be friends. Seriously though, someone should send those law makers to conversion therapy.
This is hilarious. My 18 & 19 y/o boys say it in every prayer to be funny. It doesn’t get old. Also, they like “nourish and strengthen our bodies”, especially when we’re having dessert. I think this is the definition of “vain repetitions”.
I told Skylar once about Mormons saying “we’re thankful for the moisture” from the pulpit after it rains and ever since he has said it to me CONSTANTLY. We just waked out of a baby blessing and the woman giving the closing prayer said the phrase and I think he might convert.
🙋🏼♀️I’m the parent who scheduled non-refundable flights this week. I totally spaced the playoffs bc they weren’t on my calendar. 😳 (In 5 yrs we have only been to 1 game.) 🤷🏼♀️ The guilt is crushing me...and now this. 👀
The biggest misconception about the cluster of earthquakes, one seismologist said, is that it’s somehow delaying a larger, more catastrophic seismic event.
