Mary Ward died on this day after a life of dedication to doing good and for providing education for girls. She wasn't afraid to cross Europe to reach the Pope to discuss her ideas. Her legacy lives on in the network of 200 Mary Ward schools world-wide.

Come and work in a beautiful location, in a superb school and at the very heart of an outstanding, busy and exciting music programme. Please retweet!
A few personal thoughts on yesterday. I overslept, so not a great start for me and the students (quite rightly) weren’t very forgiving! I watched their excitement build as we approached St Peter’s Square. Their early start meant a good set of seats at the Papal Mass.
Superb St Cecilia’s concert this evening. Pipers, Concertos, Overtures, Birthday Odes and Jazz Standards. Great attitude to high standards shown by all the students. Brilliant support given by our incredible instrumental teachers. Thanks all. Pics to follow
Thank you to @SchoolMarys for providing our Pipe Band with the opportunity to open and perform at the Scottish @iapsuk this afternoon - it's wonderful to be here! #CompassforLife
Privilege to sing in Durham Cathedral for their All Saints' Day Eucharist on Tuesday. Such an incredible and beautiful building. Also, there is no better city in which to spend a crisp autumnal afternoon! Thank you @durhamcathedral for having us.
Half of the house has departed for half-term. Chinese takeaway for the survivors. A couple of them are off to Lisbon on rugby tour, and another group are spending the next week on the Nepal expedition.
This year’s fiercely contested inter-House Raft Race saw @AmpColl_StC take the trophy for fastest raft and @AmpColl_StA and @AmpColl_StH coming joint second for best House unity. Well done to all students and staff for their efforts! #compassforlife#TeamSpirit
We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II, a wonderful supporter of the arts across the UK. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family.
