Today is a fantastic day for women’s sports, and women and girls everywhere.

I will weigh in more thoroughly later, but a couple things need to be mentioned.

1. It was clear from the unanimous decision on title IX and the measured response from the dissenters on equal protection that common sense is returning- and that states without save women’s sports acts need to act quickly.

2. The team of people who argued and won this case was truly elite. From Michael and Holly in my office, to all of the brave female athletes who bravely came forward to speak their truth, to @Raul_Labrador , to @ADFLegal , to all the amazing support from our @RepublicanAGs, to the members of the @wvlegislature and to @MorriseyWV for starting this case, thank you! It was an amazing team of effort - and the results are a testament to this great team.

1. Pray

2. Vote

3. Eat Tudors (it’s also national buttermilk biscuit day)

4. Watch the movie “the campaign”

5. Do the yard work I’ve been putting off

6. Reflect on the race - and what I’ve learned.

This year, and this campaign ive leaned so much about our amazing state, and what it means to serve each and every one of you.

The support and love we’ve received from every corner is overwhelming, flattering and motivating.

We’ve also seen some of the worst of politics, undisclosed dark money, fake endorsements, horrible nastiness, misleading texts, and a departure from the humble kindness that makes our state and its people truly unique.

I am so proud of my campaign team, Zachary K. Perry , Mark Davin Harris, Mary Claire Barnes , Wendy McCuskey and so so many others - for making our campaign unique- positive, uplifting and something that i went to bed last night with my held high about.

Mostly, I’m proud that we showed my girls that politics can be about your vision, your background and your plans. We showed them an honorable example, and as a parent, that’s our number one goal.

We pray today for victory - but we also pray for every leader of our state to hear the call of our people. A call for prosperity, kindness, opportunity, freedom and respect. If called upon this evening, I will carry this banner for our party into the fall, and beyond.
