The Finance & Contract Committee of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, chaired by Mayor Sh. Saurabh Joshi, today approved a series of key development works to strengthen civic infrastructure across the city. Major decisions include redevelopment of sports courts, upgradation of parks with children's play areas & lighting, sewerage, water supply, roads, community centres, waste management and other public utility projects aimed at enhancing citizens' quality of life.

Nishant Kumar Yadav, IAS, inspected Chandigarh's solid waste management facilities at Dadumajra and appreciated the city's scientific waste management system and compliance with the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026. The committee noted efficient waste processing, four-stream source segregation, and successful legacy waste bio-remediation.
