Full details on Kyle Tucker's Dodgers contract, per ESPN sources:
- 4 years, $240 million guaranteed
- Opt-outs after Years 2 and 3
- $64M signing bonus
- $30M deferred
- $57.1M a year in net present value after factoring in deferrals -- a record by $6M+
A staggering deal.
I understand the gambling implications of the Ravens lying on the injury report RE: Lamar’s status, but that’s actually an incidental story in this.
The real story is the Ravens listing Lamar as a full participant as a way to pressure him into playing, and Lamar rejecting it.
@JimboJumbo27@jkythms Russ has all the accolades. He’s probably a first ballot HOFer.
Yes has the last 4 years been tough, sure. But he’s a mobile QB and his body has taken a beating. He’s going to deteriorate quicker than the pocket passers.
He went 10-6 in 2018, 11-5 in 2019 and 12-4 in 2020. The first 3 years you left the team. Post legion of boom he’s 33-15, with all 3 years passing for 30+ TDs. Pro bowls all 3 years and an all pro in 2019.
Russ is a HOFer, even without the legion of boom.
Tony Gonzalez: "If ever there was somebody who played himself out of a Hall of Fame, it's Russell Wilson..."
Richard Sherman: "Without that legendary defense (in Seattle), he's been 4-11, 7-8, 0-3 to start with the Giants..." 🏈🔥🎙️ #NFL
The New York Giants have no idea what they are doing at QB. Signed Jameis Winston only to sign Russell Wilson to start over him and then drafted a Rookie QB who will get minimal reps in his redshirt year behind those 2. Lord have mercy.
Spoke with serval teams in the bottom half of the first round yesterday. It likely would cost the Giants pick 34 (second round) + 65 (third round) at least to get into late teens. Expectation is it would be for Jaxson Dart.
Later in 20s probably more in the range of picks 34 + 99 (later third-rounder).
All things to consider as they get ready for the first round and contemplate a trade up for a quarterback.

@BigBlueUnited@antg104 I want to trade back and try to accumulate picks for the future of trading up in the following year BUT Carter might be on Garrett/Parsons/Watt level so it would pain me to pass on him
2 of the QB’s are possible franchise altering, Travis Hunter is the best prospect we’ve seen since Deion and Abdul Carter could possibly be Myles Garret 2.0
But yeah let’s trade out of that scenario…
