National Right to Life is proud to endorse Lisa Demuth for Governor of Minnesota. Minnesota deserves a governor who will defend the most vulnerable, support mothers and families, and restore respect for innocent human life. Lisa Demuth has shown the courage and conviction needed for this moment. We are grateful for her leadership and proud to stand with her. @lisademuthmn@mccl_org #MNGOP #MNGOP2026
Yesterday a #MNLeg Senate committee passed, along party lines, a bill for an amendment to enshrine unlimited abortion in the state Constitution.
The bill, SF 473, would put a proposed constitutional amendment on the ballot for voters in the fall; the amendment is a version of the so-called Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) that, among other controversial provisions, would establish in the Constitution a right to abortion without limits at any stage of pregnancy.
If the bill passes, voters would be asked on the ballot about protecting equal rights based on "pregnancy" (among other characteristics)—with no mention or implication of abortion. But the actual amendment that would be adopted would protect the right to abortion (the right to decide "whether to ... remain pregnant") without qualification.
In the wake of Tim Walz's extreme policies, many Minnesotans are looking for a more reasonable and commonsense approach that supports women and babies. They won't find it with Sen. Klobuchar, who has earned a zero percent pro-life voting record across dozens of votes in her decades spent in Washington.

Today U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar announced her campaign for governor of Minnesota in 2026.
Sen. Klobuchar is about as far from moderation on the abortion issue as a politician can possibly be. She voted AGAINST advancing a measure to ensure ordinary care for newborns who survive abortion rather than letting them die of neglect. She also voted AGAINST stopping taxpayer funding of elective abortion and AGAINST protecting babies late in pregnancy when they can feel pain.
Just this week, Sen. Klobuchar voted to block the Pregnant Students’ Rights Act, which would have required colleges to inform pregnant and parenting students of their rights and the resources available to them.
Hundreds of Minnesotans from across the state came to the Capitol in St. Paul today to urge protection and support for women and children and to spotlight the dangers of coerced abortions under Minnesota's extreme abortion policy.
There's now less support and empowerment for pregnant women and less protection for vulnerable women and children. It's time to restore commonsense policies in our state.

Abortions declined slightly in 2024 but have risen 35 percent since 2021, according to a corrected-but-still-incomplete report from the Minnesota Department of Health. MDH has revised its original Dec. 31 report after mistakenly double-counting more than 2,500 abortions.
The surge in abortions in recent years, and the major reporting failures, are a reminder that DFL lawmakers have made Minnesota an extreme outlier—in the region, in the country, and in the world.
Life holds value from the first moment it exists. On International Human Rights Day, we honor every child in the womb who carries the same innate dignity as every person walking this earth. Human rights begin where human life begins, and we will defend that truth without apology.
MCCL is holding meetings across the state this fall to empower pro-lifers as we work together to rebuild a pro-life Minnesota.

The Big Beautiful Bill is adopted! This is a historic victory, the first time Big Abortion has been defunded. Thank you to the efforts of Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune for advancing this bill. Now it’s headed to President Trump’s desk.
