When the calendar turns tomorrow the mental block of “it’s still early, it’s still April” will be gone.
No plant today, maybe not tomorrow.
13% planted here. Only beans in so far. The beans that did go in were not great conditions.
We are really only a small pocket in central Iowa, most have seemed to have good progress 45-60 minutes in any direction.
Definitely haven’t missed out on much for GDU’s

John Deere X9 vs D11 Cat
What happens when a wide load passes a wide load?
On your right side is a 75,000lb John Deere X9 with a max speed of 25mph (40kph). Width of 3.5 meters.
On your left, incoming is a Cat D11T weighing nearly 3x more (200,000lbs) going 2x the speed. Width of 3.7 meters.
A road lane is about 3.5m wide.
The +$1 million X9 gets flicked into the ditch.
As if farmers didn’t have enough to worry about when using the roads……
Annual reminder to never ever walk under swing auger when it’s in the air. First touch of hydraulics this year and it came crashing down from full height when cable broke. Had a neighbour killed years ago from this, so is always on my mind. @AgGrowthIntl
Today, we remember Charlie Kirk.
A husband, father, and leader who dedicated his life to encouraging young people to stand firm in their convictions and speak truth with courage.
May his legacy live on as a true turning point for America.
Our prayers are with his family.
