📱 OPCUA Monitor for Android – Pub/Sub Dashboard Demo 🚀
I've uploaded a new demo video showing how easy it is to create monitoring dashboards using OPC UA Pub/Sub.
[Youtube]
https://t.co/DT6sg183Dn
In this demo:
🔹 Create a Workspace and configure a Pub/Sub Channel
🔹 Automatically discover fields published by the OPC UA server
🔹 Select the data you want to monitor without manually entering Node IDs
🔹 Add widgets directly to a dashboard
🔹 Choose from multiple visualization types, including:
• Line Charts
• Bar Charts
• Multi-Series Charts
• Gauges and other dashboard widgets
🔹 Build a real-time monitoring screen in just a few steps
One of the advantages of Pub/Sub is that the server automatically publishes available fields, making dashboard creation much simpler compared to traditional tag-based configuration.
My goal with OPCUA Monitor is to provide a practical mobile monitoring tool for industrial automation, IIoT, and OPC UA environments.
Feedback and testing are always welcome! 🙌

[Devil's Advocate]
Hot take? Cool. Let's see if it survives.
Devil's Advocate Web:
https://t.co/5wvWJgfX60
"This character's arc was actually perfect."
"Pineapple belongs on pizza."
"That ending was genius and I will die on this hill."
Can you defend it against a **devil's advocate** who doesn't care about your feelings?
**Devils Advocate** is an app where AI argues *against* you — relentlessly, shamelessly, without mercy.
No comfort. No "that's a great point." Just counterarguments, one after another.
Throw in your anime takes, your food opinions, your shower thoughts.
Or your presentation argument, your technical decision, your business case.
Serious or not — the AI will find the cracks either way.
You can tune how vicious it gets — a gentle pushback, or a full-on roast.
Your argument plays out as a tree, so you can see exactly where it fell apart.
At the end, you get a summary: what held up, what didn't.
*Your opinions are welcome. They just won't be safe.*

🚀 OPCUA Monitor is now officially released on Google Play! 🚀
After months of development, testing, and feedback from the community, I’m excited to announce that OPCUA Monitor has moved from Open Testing to an official production release on Google Play.
OPCUA Monitor is an Android application designed for engineers working with industrial automation, PLCs, SCADA systems, and IIoT environments.
Key features include:
🔹 OPC UA Client/Server connectivity
🔹 OPC UA Pub/Sub support (UDP & MQTT)
🔹 Direct OPC UA monitoring on industrial networks via USB Ethernet adapters (tested on Pixel 9a)
🔹 Node browsing and tag selection
🔹 Workspace-based organization of systems and equipment
🔹 Real-time monitoring dashboards
🔹 Line charts, bar charts, gauges, and other visualization widgets
🔹 Security Policy and authentication support
🔹 Tablet-friendly dashboard layouts
The idea behind this project was simple:
Most OPC UA tools are designed for protocol experts. I wanted to create a mobile-first monitoring tool that allows engineers to connect to existing OPC UA systems, browse available data, and build dashboards directly from a smartphone or tablet.
So far, the application has been tested with:
✅ Siemens SIMATIC S7-1200
✅ Siemens SIMATIC S7-1500
✅ Prosys OPC UA Simulation Server
Recently, I also verified direct OPC UA monitoring over USB Ethernet adapters on a Google Pixel 9a, making it possible to connect directly to industrial networks in the field without relying on Wi-Fi.
I would like to thank everyone who participated in testing and provided feedback during development.
If you work with OPC UA, PLCs, industrial automation, or IIoT systems, I would greatly appreciate your feedback and compatibility reports from different OPC UA platforms.

📱➡️🔌➡️🏭 Direct OPC UA Monitoring from Android
Following the release of OPCUA Monitor on Google Play, I recently completed another validation test that I think is particularly interesting for field engineers.
✅ Siemens SIMATIC S7-1500 / 1200
✅ Android smartphone
✅ USB Ethernet adapter
✅ Direct OPC UA communication
No Wi-Fi access point.
No gateway.
No PC.
Just an Android device connected directly to the industrial network through a USB Ethernet adapter.
This may sound like a small feature, but for commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting in the field, it can significantly simplify access to industrial data.
One of the design goals of OPCUA Monitor has always been to make OPC UA monitoring as simple and practical as possible. Connect, browse available nodes, select tags, and start monitoring.
I have now successfully validated direct connectivity with both:
✓ Siemens SIMATIC S7-1200
✓ Siemens SIMATIC S7-1500
I'd be interested to hear how others are accessing OPC UA data in the field today.
