@bruno76bianchi@acnewsitics@KatieMiller Can you point to a single credible source that has shown fraud at any level that would come anywhere near enough to change an election. A “farce” in what way? Can you explain “scambio elettorale politico-mafioso” to me and why that had to made a specific criminal offense?
@bruno76bianchi@acnewsitics@KatieMiller Italy is 1/5 the size of a single US state, let’s not say just because they do something the US must to. The argument still stands, the ID mandate solves no problem, so why do it? Adding useless steps to a process never makes it better.
@Inquisition1776@acnewsitics@KatieMiller I also think both sides do this, “they stole it” argument all the time, I hate it. I believe it all stems from social media bubbles where all day every day we just see posts of like minded people, so when things don’t go your way, we say “can’t be, no one I know voted that way”
@Inquisition1776@acnewsitics@KatieMiller But I stand by the stance that any hurdle without a need should not be added, and I don’t think this hurdle has a need, I think it’s a fine argument to have and I see both sides, but I would love to see the 65% of people that voted only going up as long as fraud is never an issue
@Inquisition1776@acnewsitics@KatieMiller But I am saying it will be a hurdle for some, with no real benefit as there is no credible source that says voter fraud, let alone fraud of stolen identity at the voting station, is anywhere near the number of those that will want to vote, can legally vote, but don’t have an ID.
@Inquisition1776@acnewsitics@KatieMiller And I’m not claiming that we would really see a 10% drop in voters, I think the effect would be much less because many would get ID and many don’t actually vote. If you don’t take the time to get an ID are you really going to take the time to vote?
@bruno76bianchi@acnewsitics@KatieMiller No that’s the argument, 10% of the voting population don’t have IDs, and that is concentrated in specific demographics such as the young, minorities, and low income, and so the results will change but not because of fraud. Fraud is near .0001% and most isn’t even ID related.
@Inquisition1776@acnewsitics@KatieMiller About 10% of the voting population don’t have ID. And that number is higher in certain demographics such as the young, minorities, and lower income. So it’s blocking 10% to stop way less than .01% of fraud that is happening.
