Online dating while doing a PhD involves answering the question, "why do you want to do a PhD?". It's like grad school applications all over again lmao
Ngl all it takes for me to be burnt out is a couple of 12hr days 2 weeks in a row. Definitely feeling more than a little judged for being so 'weak' lmao. Fun.
me weeks before my tac meeting: yes I can do this, I know what I am doing. I'm **confident**
me 1 hour before my meeting: oh my god what the heck i dont know anything someone let me quit my phd right now can the school fire me.
thanks anxiety.

@biologistninja tbh I text after 15 mins, and would just leave after 30. I'd do work in the mean time but every minute wasted waiting for someone is a minute I could either be having lunch, or working on my experiments
@NanotechWitch back when i was just starting out and knowing nothing, I had people tell me that different people do the same experiment differently.. and no no one has a protocol for all that. yes they had one, but no one follows it.
me: so... what do I do now???
Had my first in person lab meeting ever and went away with a headache. 6 years later, tutorial room fluorescent lightbulbs still makes me feel sick lol
@njoybetz I break for an hour, sometimes I'd meet non-academic friends for lunch, others I'd takeaway food and read a book or something on my phone (something not research related) at my desk. might be a bit sad to some but I find this really relaxing
Ngl i look at all the posts on ig from other PhD students and they seem to be doing more than just phd work all day, and I wonder if it's me being utterly inept at relaxing, but also feeling like I have too much to do. #academictwitter#ScienceTwitter#phdlife#phdvoice
anyone else having issues creating a poll on doodle? I've been trying to set one up for 30 mins now and keep running into an error.
