People have severe amnesia about the Trump presidency. Here’s a reminder:
- Murders rose 30% in 2020 alone, one of the largest increases in recorded history.
- Drug overdose deaths spiked from 63,632 in 2016 to over 70,000 in 2019 and 93,331 in 2020.
- Over 5,000 children were separated at the border; hundreds were separated for years, and some were never reunited.
- $7.8 trillion added to the national debt, mainly due to 2017 tax cuts for the wealthy, increased military spending, and COVID relief funds.
- Real GDP saw its largest decline since 1947.
- Trump’s businesses, which he claimed he would divest from but never fully did, reportedly brought in over $7 million from at least 20 foreign governments, including China, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.
- The trade deficit rose over 40%, jumping from $481 billion in 2016 to over $575 billion in 2019.
- 154,000 manufacturing jobs were lost, with growth slowing significantly before COVID.
- Coal production declined by 27%.
- He attempted to repeal the ACA, potentially stripping tens of millions of healthcare.
- The agriculture industry was so negatively affected by his trade war with China that he had to give handouts to farmers, and many farms went bankrupt.
- U.S. homelessness increased, with numbers trending up throughout his presidency.
@sweetcarolinatv@JoeBiden Hmm when Trump was losing during his previous debate. “He was also posting while on stage….” Get your facts straight!! Don’t be ignorant!! #NoFelon4President
I'm tired of Republicans saying things like "If you want to ban AR-15's then why don't we ban cars since cars kill more people." Here's why this argument actually proves why we need more Gun Laws:
- Cars require a registration.
- Drivers need a license to use them.
- Drivers require insurance in case their car kills/injures someone.
- There are 100's of safety restrictions on cars before they are road-ready.
- A car user needs to pass a test to drive it.
- They also need to take a course in most states.
- There are dozens of restrictions based on age, health, etc.
- You can lose your right to drive a car if you don't use it properly.
- Cars are illegal to use when drunk.
