I talk about Canada vs America a lot because I lived both systems.
I spent about half my life in each country, so I know the differences.
In Canada, I lost over half my income to tax, and got long waits for healthcare in return.
In America, my taxes last year were 7.2% of my income, and I get top notch healthcare for a fraction of what I paid in taxes in Canada.
Canadians are increasingly grumpy and stressed out due to decades of terrible “leadership”. If they properly leveraged their resources, they’d all be rich. They elected a WEF stooge who is accelerating the downfall and replacing the population with immigrants.
America swings between two parties determined to maintain the status quo. The political class hates Trump because he’s upsetting their decades of corruption and grift. We are tired of same old, and elected Trump to shake the box. He’s doing it, and gaining worldwide derision in the process. He’s slowly fixing what this broken system has built.
He’s far from perfect, but right now he’s the only one who can fix this.
Mia Schem was a Drake fan. She listened to his music, admired him and even received clothing from his brand. Then she heard him say: “Pray for Gaza.”
For Mia, those words landed very differently.
Mia was shot and kidnapped from the Nova festival on October 7 and dragged into Gaza, where she spent 55 days in Hamas captivity. She says the wife of the man holding her sometimes fed her only once every two or three days, while his children would taunt her with food and then refuse to give it to her.
“They treated me like an animal in a cage.”
Mia says she initially believed that perhaps the women and children around her would show some humanity. Instead, she says she saw hatred being taught from childhood: “They teach the children from the beginning to hate, to become terrorists and to glorify death.”
Her friend Elia Toledano was kidnapped from Nova as well. He never came home alive.
So when Mia heard Drake’s message, she says she was shocked. And she had something to say to celebrities who speak so confidently about a reality they have never lived: “People don’t understand anything. They follow what other people say, like sheep.”
“I was kidnapped from my country and taken to Gaza. I know how they treated me there.”
That is the part Drake and every celebrity turning Gaza into a slogan should hear.
Mia does not know Gaza from TikTok, hashtags or celebrity activism. She knows it because she was dragged there wounded, held hostage, starved and tormented.
Before preaching to the world about Gaza, listen to the woman who was actually taken there against her will.
Her testimony matters more than any celebrity slogan.

‼️ City Are Guilty. Now Make the Punishment Fit the Crime
I’ve written a lot about the Manchester City case over the years and people have often asked me the same question:
What punishment would you impose if the findings survive appeal?
Well, here it is.
Finish this Premier League season, but impose a points deduction sufficient to guarantee relegation and, subject to acceptance, allow the EFL to place them wherever they see fit.
Then:
- No parachute payments.
- 30 point deduction the following season.
- 20 points the season after that.
- 10 points the season after that.
- Three years of severe transfer spending restrictions.
- Strip the domestic honours directly affected, including those after the initial investigatory period, and leave them vacant. No retrospective champions.
- Pay compensation where rival clubs can demonstrate genuine financial loss.
And finally, any owners, directors or senior executives implicated in the wrongdoing (potentially: Sheikh Mansour, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, Ferran Soriano, Danny Wilson, Claire Catlin, Txiki Begiristain etc.) should face the regulator’s suitability process and, where they fail it, be banned from English football.
I don’t want Manchester City Football Club destroyed forever. City supporters, Liam Gallagher included, didn’t devise financial schemes or sit around boardroom tables constructing sham arrangements.
I want the competitive advantage gained through years of rule breaking destroyed, and those responsible held accountable.
One enormous points deduction followed by promotion and business as usual wouldn’t cut it.
The consequences should follow City for years.
Because if nine seasons of serious financial wrongdoing can ultimately be overcome with one bad season and a large cheque, what deterrent is there?
Make the punishment hurt. Make it last. Make sure nobody ever considers doing it again.
If a murderer survives a state execution, they get life saving care.
If a baby survives an abortion attempt, they leave the baby to die on a surgical tray.
We are living in some dark times.
Don’t be a DICK. 🚫
Dick’s Sporting Goods blocked custom bottles that said JESUS, GOD, and BIBLE — then green-lit “prophet muhammad,” “quran,” and “allahu akbar.”
Christians got the censor. Islam got the pass.
No apology. Just a quiet reversal after they got caught.
Shop somewhere that doesn’t treat your faith like a dirty word. ✝️🇺🇸
Since Abramovich arrived in 2003 and Abu Dhabi in 2008, Chelsea and Man Cty have won 13 of the 23 league titles. Their previous combined total was 3. Chelsea in 1955 Man Cty in 1937 & 1968. They had no history of league success in any era. English football was sold 23 years ago.
There was a woman in my office who kept borrowing my pen.
Not once.
Not twice.
Almost every day.
She’d walk past my desk and say:
“Can I borrow that?”
I kept handing it over.
One day, I finally joked:
“You know you can buy your own, right?”
She laughed.
“I know.”
But she still returned it every afternoon.
I started recognizing the sound of her footsteps.
She’d appear around 3 PM.
“Pen?”
I’d slide it across my desk.
Then she’d disappear.
This went on for almost two months.
Until one day, she didn’t come to work.
Nobody knew why.
The next day, she still wasn’t there.
Then the day after that.
On Friday, I found a small envelope on my desk.
Inside was my pen.
And a note:
Funny how Pep was also there at Barca during the era of alleged payment to the head of the refereeing committee. Doubt he knew anything about it though? He then works with the same directors from Barca at City for ten years. I knew he failed one drugs test as a player but now I’m hearing it was twice on the same drug. Showing up at a fair few crime scenes isn’t he… ⏳🤔
🚨🗣️ Matthew Syed (English journalist) went HARD against Pep Guardiola about Manchester City's case:
"Either Pep knew about it—in which case he is neither a visionary nor a legend, just a fraud—or he didn't know, making him incredibly shortsighted."
"I mean, I’m no forensic accountant, yet I’ve been questioning City’s financial arrangements for over a decade, despite facing constant insults and threats. And Pep didn't see a thing? Is he blind?"
Everyone seems to have forgotten why Financial Fair Play was introduced in the first place.
It was never supposed to protect the richest clubs. It was supposed to stop clubs from spending themselves into oblivion and creating a financial arms race where the only way to compete was to find a billionaire willing to bankroll massive losses.
Look at what happened in the 2000s and early 2010s.
Portsmouth won the FA Cup in 2008, played AC Milan in Europe in 2009 and reached another FA Cup final in 2010. Then came administration, a nine-point deduction, relegation and eventually League Two.
Leeds went from Champions League semi-finalists to League One.
Bolton went from the Premier League to League Two.
Clubs were taking enormous financial risks just to keep up.
So the Premier League clubs agreed that something had to change.
In February 2013, they voted in new financial regulations designed to improve the sustainability of clubs, requiring them to work towards break-even while still allowing a degree of owner investment.
And here's the funny part:
Manchester City voted AGAINST the restrictions.
At the time, City were already being bankrolled on an extraordinary scale by Sheikh Mansour. Their 2011-12 accounts showed a £99m loss, a £202m wage bill and almost £1bn of owner investment since the takeover.
Fast-forward to today.
The same financial rules that were supposed to make clubs sustainable became something City spent years fighting.
And an independent commission has now found that City used sham agreements, misstated accounts and concealed the true state of their finances, concluding that the club intended to circumvent Premier League rules.
Meanwhile, clubs like Bournemouth, Brighton and Brentford have shown that you can build competitive Premier League teams through recruitment, development, smart trading and sustainable growth.
That's the irony.
Financial regulation wasn't created to stop clubs competing.
It was created because football had already seen what happens when clubs believe they HAVE to spend beyond their means just to survive.
The problem isn't that football has rules.
The problem is what happens when the richest clubs decide the rules shouldn't apply to them.
And that's exactly why this City story matters far beyond Manchester.
It is about what kind of football the Premier League wants to be.
