"Earlier, Mr Martin said he does not agree that the dispute could be solved by telling Mr Burnham to stop the march."
- @MichealMartinTD in time honoured fashion is happy to stand idly by. Assume all @fiannafailparty members & supporters are happy with his position?
There’s been a pol. unionist consensus developing, floated by some in media, that a ‘one and done’ parade might be a compromise.
All supportive of that must ask themselves this:
Should there be a reciprocal ‘one & done’ Shankill Rd Republican parade?
If one is a bad idea….

****IRISH FOLK BAND THE MARY WALLOPERS WILL PLAY LIVE ON THE GARVAGHY ROAD TODAY AT 3PM: *******
Irish folk music group The Mary Wallopers will be on the Garvaghy Road on Thursday afternoon.
The Dundalk-based band will be present from 3pm to support local people and sing a few tunes.
This week has seen musicians entertain residents in a bid to keep spirits up amidst a stand-off over a controversial Orange Order parade.
On Wednesday evening, members of the band Beoga joined musicians at a tent set up in the area.
In a post on the band’s Instagram account, they said they were “in awe of the wonderful community on the Garvaghy Road”.
The band said the local residents, who have been protesting since Sunday, were “a shining example of solidarity, people power, resistance and standing firm for peace and dignity in our communities”.
Feels like the Team ‘allow the law to be honoured’ crew are losing the PR battle. The breadth of people siding with the residents is growing and growing.
You would like to think that the PSNI and the Parades Commission would take accountability for their incredulous and serious errors of judgement that has caused this mess, but of course neither will do that. Sadly, it’s too much to ask.
Well this Garvaghy Road episode proves that the Fleadh, Feile, and the kids being okay has rattled the fuck out of them.
Now, bring it on 2027.
More love, less orangemen. ❤️ 🧡💚✊🏻
PSNI appears unable to take a flag down from a lamppost or remove a dangerous bonfire, but can arrive in large numbers with reinforcements from England and Scotland to force an Orange Order march down the Garvaghy Road.
Fine Gael TD Barry Ward saying government would have backed FAI if they had said they didn't want to play the game. 🤯
Might have been an idea to say that before now.

Residents of the Garvaghy Road to challenge Parades Commission decision.
Breandán Mac Cionnaith says the community has been left shocked after Orangemen were permitted to proceed with the march for the first time in almost 30 years.
