Reflecting on whatever I've been reading for class and wondering how much India could've contributed to the Digital Humanities discourse had the country not been colonized and fighting for basic human rights 🔪

@PriyankaSrfq7u@fenandme I get the medical treatments part and about missing familiar food, but what do you mean by salon services? Like to cut hair?? Or cosmetic procedures?
I want to do a public service announcement for people who are desperate to come to Europe. I have seen many, many desperate Indian students doing 12 hours of delivery/ restaurant / gig work, extremely underpaid and abused in Berlin and this really bothers me.
Please don’t take out huge loans and go
into debt to get admitted to third rate private universities here. You will face extreme hardship, both mental and financial, for little to no reward.
There many universities in Germany which are essentially visa mills. They sell you a dream- that if you manage to somehow get to Europe, you will be financially sorted for life and there will be an abundance of job offers for you to pick and choose from, once you graduate.
These universities are very scammy, have a low barrier to entry (you can more or less buy a seat), and extremely low teaching standards. Students who come here are forced to take up underpaid and often illegal gig work to survive and they are easy targets for shady companies.
And then they realize that their university degree is pretty much worthless. Both in Germany and in India.
If you do want to come to Germany, apply
to the state run universities here. These are usually cheap but very competitive and have usually quite high standards.
Please don’t take out a 30 lakh loan, or sell family land to fall for a scam. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is not true.
Also the Indians on X who are relentlessly advising young people to get out of the country by hook or by crook, should perhaps exercise some caution knowing that there are impressionable young people out there who might do stupid things.
@kirankumargoli@arpispeaks There are so many sides to this. What if the man insists on paying even when the woman's got her wallet out? What if the woman takes over and pays the whole bill, how would that make the man feel? We're scared to offend men because you just never know what offends them ??
@mayukh_panja I agree with everything else but what's that about people taking time to shop? Not everybody's shopping when there's an emergency, why would you expect other people to rush their grocery shopping or whatever 🤷🏻♀️
@a_bose07 Can you read? As you've said, Shankaracharya's behavior in this birth will reflect in his next birth. Tell me how, in an exchange about castes, that's not = it's ok to not care for the lower castes because they were born that way because of their actions in the previous life?
@_Rice_Cream If ur denying the relation bw these things to caste system, educate ppl in a better way. We Indians are not known to be civil/interested in engaging in conversations we might not be able to back. But I hope you get the chance to ans these ques urself& give better ans than we did
@_Rice_Cream All that educating and then going around cussing at strangers. No one is attacking your religion, the theme here is how what's happening in society ties back to caste and other things. If you want people to see things differently, try being the change maybe🤷🏻♀️
@iramsubramanian Nobody makes a religion or caste their entire personality like the Indians do. And they're also so insecure about it that any aspect you criticize feels like a personal attack to them🤷🏻♀️ our people really need to travel and interact with other cultures more and chill out a little
Countless Indians, both at home and abroad, behave with dignity and restraint without feeling any less Indian for doing so. The embarrassment some experience is not about Western approval, but about the avoidable damage done to India’s reputation by loutish conduct.
You have your few minutes of fun and walk away; we are staying back, in this very society, building a career, raising a family, trying to integrate and assimilate, hence we are the ones that have to answer. We are the ones that face the stereotyping.
This is for all the chomus who keep saying I live abroad and criticise India . Yes I do criticise, anyone in the world can tbh, we criticise governments and leaders abroad too don't we because what happens in our country depends on them too. If this war didn't teach you that, I don't know what will. Agree some may not have an understanding of our problems completely but I am still an Indian citizen, born and brought up in India.
Why do I care if I don't live there? Well our families live there, our children study in CBSE schools, our investments/properties are in India, we still pay taxes there. We bring in the foreign remittances. Everything that happens in India affects us too. There are many like me here and in other countries but you guys don't think so much do you?
Also no one is paying me to write anything. Who said it was wrong to demand better for all citizens and criticise the government? We are still a democracy, the government is accountable and like you all say Moti is not a dictator...yet. Even if Congress was ruling, I would criticise them for their blunders too. So please keep your gyaan to yourself. Don't like the criticism, it hurts your feelings?....block and scroll. I am just one unknowm voice on social media. Hope that clears everything up.
@mssakshinarula Love this! Moving hasn't made me any less Indian. Hate on the basis of caste/religion is js sad to witness, esp when I compare it to how things were like 10-15 years ago. Some people js want to make excuses instead of acknowledging the problems in our country and doing sth ab it!
@Poan__Sapdi Totally unrelated but did you also get a black and white picture of you behind the wheels? My friend got one of these in Germany for speeding and we framed it for his birthday 😂
@ardraserene Show me where the Hinduphobia is? If ppl ask ques ab our society, should I make stuff up? Karma is known as an Indian thing, you think everyone knows about the concepts like rebirth attached to it? Get out of your village and read a little instead of crying on the internet.
