THANK YOU for sharing this, @EricLDaugh
The fleecing of their own students and families is APPALLING.
Taxpayers and students across the entire state bear the brunt of this malfeasance as well, and now federal dollars are involved.
SHAMELESS.
It was an honor to attend the SCOTUS hearing on this important gun case, and to see the amicus brief we co-authored @CivilRights argued VERY ably by Sarah Harris, deputy SG. It was interesting to hear Justice Jackson defend the invocation of "black laws" that targeted African Americans during the reconstruction era, as an appropriate analogue for the constitutionality of Hawaii's broad anti-2A laws. I do not believe this view will end up being the majority view in the opinion.
I feel the argument went well for those who join me in advocating for a broad definition of Second Amendment rights and who oppose states trying to get around Bruen.
Amazing job yet again by the SG's office @TheJusticeDept
The chairs of the committees I serve on run meetings professionally.
However, Monday was VERY different. During the Assembly Judiciary hearing, @AswVickyFlynn was threatened and disparaged after the Democrat chairwoman lost control of her meeting. The chair took no action to intervene, de-escalate, or protect a member who was ultimately escorted out at the end of the session for her own safety—simply for stating her belief that the State of New Jersey should not interfere with federal immigration authorities.
There was no State Police presence in the room during consideration of the Immigrant Trust Directive bills, which raises a serious and unavoidable question: was that by design?
That is not leadership. It cannot ever happen again. Unacceptable.

Every time a town that is delaying a permit receives a Shuttlesworth letter, it is adding to an already substantial body of evidence that will be used to dismantle the state's unconstitutional permitting scheme.
And that evidence is being sent to the Department of Justice in real time. Click above to read more.

New Jersey has completely banned overwhelmingly popular rifles and magazines, contrary to binding SCOTUS precedent. Under the leadership of @AGPamBondi, not on @CivilRights’ watch!
Just so we are clear, this FBI needs no one’s permission to enforce the constitution. My responsibility is to the American people, not political punch lines. LA is under siege by marauding criminals, and we will restore law and order. I’m not asking you, I’m telling you.
