Find me a starting pitcher in the hall of fame that He's pitched more innings or had more appearances than.

The closest you'll find is Dizzy Dean who retired at 31, and still threw 300 more innings,and 40 more appearances,and has 45 more wins.

But not durable.

A position player misses 40% of a teams games, he's still part of 100 games.

A starting pitcher misses 40%, hes involved in 20.

You can't be a real HOF player,when you're playing 1/8 of the season.

We're talking about over 1000 less than most starting pitchers in the hall.

Hell,He's 2000 less than Verlander.

Part of the hall of fame is accumulated numbers,and longevity,and that requires durability.

he was unavailable far too much.

J. Verlander, up until he hit around 40,could be counted on for 30-35 starts a year and 200+ innings.

DeGrom you could never count on for that.

Far less,in fact.

He's not a Hall of famer.

Simple.

Hoffman pitched in about half the games every year.

DeGrom pitched on average, about 20.

He went 5 straight years under 16 appearances.

Sanders made the playoffs on multiple occasions, and even played in the conference championship.

Mike trout made it once,and got swept out,and went 1-12.

Koufax, in 12 seasons,threw over 600 more innings than DeGrom.

At his current innings per season avg, DeGrom would have to pitch 5 more years to catch him.

Verlander had an 8 year stretch with more innings.

How you dont get that is beyond me.

He's averaged less than 130 innings a season.

Hell,relievers have had more innings than that.

If you want to say he has hall of fame talent,that can't be argued.

But,of his 13 seasons, hes pitched less than 130 innings in 6 of them,and less then 100 in 5 of them

Justin Verlander would pitch 5 or 6 innings with a fastball around 93-94 and then avg 98 the last few innings,to get through a long

Degrom has made over 2 million $$$ per win in his career as a starting pitcher,because he's constantly injured.

His talent is undeniable,but his availability has been unreliable.

If there's a hall of fame for coulda beens, then he's in,otherwise,no way.

He had 3 straight years of 200 innings, followed by 5 straight yrs under 100.
