The Interior Department is committed to telling America's accurate, authentic and complete history — even the difficult parts.
Some of it hurts and some of it heals, but all of this history can help us build a more equitable future.
@whatpreferences Being born in DC, growing up in Arlington, returning after college for a decade+ & now living in Colorado (which has a much more toxic notion of the term) the concept of “native” is naive at best, and makes me super uncomfortable when white people claim it.
I go to Trans Days of Remembrance celebrations to hear stories of strength and triumph and to honor the names of those taken for having the bravery to live their authentic selves. To call this a shooting instead of what it really is, domestic terrorism, is misleading and a lie.
“I pull up my grief to every table I sit at.”
That grieving people are often tasked with making their grief more palatable and somehow less for the comfort of others is a very sad and strange burden during the most difficult time.
LOC is neat as heck. Also, LOC staffers can take out any books so having a parent that worked there meant this was my childhood. Can’t say enough about this special place. 💜
Ok y’all I’m freaking out. This is the Congressional members reading room in the Library of Congress. I can pull any comic book from what is the largest public comic collection in the country and read them here. Let’s go!
Hey just so you know, on Saturday night, someone ripped the mezuzah off our door frame, tore out the prayer scroll, and chucked both down the hallway.
This stuff is happening to people you know and love. And if you’ve experienced it yourself, please know you’re not alone.
I’m a longtime, obsessed Tolkien fan who’s really liked @LOTRonPrime. Best part has been finding content creators like this who know the books. Love this take on the hobbit films. You should definitely follow him for show recaps.

@ChelseaCirruzzo It’s the planes. Leather, metal and oil. I was touring an aircraft carrier and wondered “why does this smell exactly like air and space??” 🤣
Many of you following along with #LizzoAtLOC were surprised that the Library has a flute vault. We are the largest Library in the world & home to more than 173 million objects, so there are many more surprises like that in our collections. Enjoy this thread of just a few of them.
“Favorite place in the world” is quickly becoming a category instead of one spot. Shots from driving the Redwood Highway and exploring the lost coast. 💚🌲💚🌲
