@RutgersAltRoute A5: since I am a preschool teacher, a lot of my feedback is done verbally. I donโt tell my students what they do โwrongโ, however, I do suggest other strategies through asking questions, โwhat do you think would happen ifโฆโ
@RutgersAltRoute A4: Being a preschool teacher, I donโt use any of the โnormal assessmentsโ used for students. However, there are other ways I assess my students through play. I ask open-ended questions, watch their play skills, and eavesdrop on social interactions between students.
@RutgersAltRoute A3: I think having a non biased outlook on messaging and introducing new material is huge. Students are like sponges, they absorb everything they hear and see. #GrowthMindset#TeacherEd
@RutgersAltRoute A2: I learned from the videos provided for this chat, teachers need to have high expectations regarding the success of their children, even the lower students. #GrowthMindset#TeacherEd
@RutgersAltRoute A1: fixed mindset presents huge challenges in student learning and development. the success of a student is heavily relied on the teacher and the type of mindset that teacher has within their classroom. #GrowthMindset#TeacherEd
@RutgersAltRoute A3: Having a strong line of communication with parents and guardians is the biggest opportunity for students with disabilities to have the opportunity to be successful! #TeacherEd#SpEd
@RutgersAltRoute A1: My schools preschool program is inclusive meaning my class has both gen ed and sped kids. Creating an inclusive learning environment is imperative for the success of all children (no matter the grade). #TeacherEd#SpEd
@RutgersAltRoute A5: In Preschool, being kind is what makes our classroom run. When one of my students goes out of their way to be kind to another, I really try and make a big show out of it so other students see that being kind is the key to being a good person.
@RutgersAltRoute A4: It is important as educators that we emphasize how being a leader and standing up for what is right is the correct thing to do. #TeacherEd#SafeSchools
@RutgersAltRoute Having a trusting relationship with a student is imperative in order for them to feel comfortable seeking out help from you. Trust, respect, and reassurance are what they are looking for. Always include counselors as well. #TeacherEd#SafeSchools
@RutgersAltRoute A2: Thankfully, I donโt see any forms of HIB in Preschool. If I did, I would not take it lightly as it is a serious situation- no matter the age of students. #TeacherEd#SafeSchools
@RutgersAltRoute My number one priority in my classroom is that the kids feel safe and loved. Preschool is such a delicate stage because this is their first school experience. Having a positive classroom environment is imperative. #TeacherEd#SafeSchools
@RutgersAltRoute A5: Honestly just different teacher โsupportโ groups on different social media platforms. And of course, relying on my coteachers as well! #TeacherEd#EdTech
@RutgersAltRoute A4: Teaching Strategies is the primary form of communication between myself and families. However, I do facilitate email a lot as I have found quicker responses from parents with emailing. #TeacherEd#EdTech
