In the 90s, music executives told Sarah McLachlan that concerts and radio shows would not include two women back-to-back because it was not seen as profitable.
In response, she started Lilith Fair, a festival featuring only female artists, which became the highest-earning touring festival in 1997.

Incredible how the sentiment on Google changed in just 2 years.
I remember when a few of us stood strong and refrained from dunking on Google and their AI efforts.
Today has clearly demonstrated that Google is not to be taken lightly in the race for AGI and AI supremacy.
While I hear a lot of noise about how ChatGPT will take everything away from Google. I feel that narrative is nothing more than noise.
My main go to is still the address bar, my queries have changed, but I got Gemini and AI mode right there, and I have the bulk of all the Google products I’m familiar with and use daily, right there.
Sure I use chat, but it’s a compliment not a replacement. The image gen in chat is slow, compared to Google. Then both of them are ancient compared to image gen in grok.
But back on track. Google is now steaming ahead with all its might. DeepMind is leading the way with research and teams like Gemini and AI Studio (also google labs) are then laying down the roads as fast as they can to get products built and to customers.
Search IMO is the product that has gotten least attention, but deserves a lot of praise. Most gemini usage in the world today comes from search, AI overviews and AI mode.
This is high signal, and the primary battle ground to fend off players like ChatGPT or Perplexity.
Don’t get me wrong, I love both Perplexity and Chat, and yes claude too. But I see this more of an eco system of players rather than a game in the colosseum with only one champion on the tail end.
But that said I’m very strongly lean towards that the reigning supreme is going to be Google.
