@_kingtrades@Topstep Honestly, getting out when the trade stops looking right is a win in itself. Missing the news wick afterward just reinforces that you made the right decision instead of hoping the trade would come back.
@R7TRADING_TWN@CoachDBA@TopstepTV@Topstep Slow markets definitely test that patience. With only 2 micros, waiting for the setup instead of trying to manufacture trades becomes even more important. Hope you get another solid day with DBA.
@cryptomaniac__1@Topstep For me, it’s years of consistency. One good month or one payout proves you can do it. Consistently managing risk, following your process, and staying profitable over time is what proves you can keep doing it.
@colintusa@Topstep That’s one of the things I like about it too. With only 2 micros, there’s less temptation to rely on size and more reason to wait for the higher-quality HTF setups. $300 on each is a solid start.
@quantbets_@Topstep I like the idea of setting your own daily stop well below the firm’s limit. That’s the kind of rule that protects you from turning a bad trading day into a bad account. The “protect the account before protecting the ego” part is spot on.
@Psysifos@MichaelPatak@Topstep That’s how I look at it too. The smaller size forces you to focus on execution and risk management instead of trying to make up for a bad day by adding more contracts. Three years is a pretty good run too.
@ms864584@T3metrics@Topstep I get why people want more size, but I think limiting it to 2 micros is intentional. The challenge is proving you can manage the risk and stay consistent before giving yourself more room.
@futureswithjo@Topstep I actually think 2 micros is the point of the $1,500 account. If you can't manage risk and prove consistency with 2 micros, adding more size isn't going to fix the problem.
@Kiwifutures@MichaelPatak I can see why the 2 MNQ max would be a sticking point, especially for traders coming from the 3K Challenge. With a $1.5K account, the position limit definitely makes patience and selectivity even more important.
@TheFundedLady I get why it feels frustrating when you’re locked out, especially when you can turn around and trade those other accounts. I wouldn’t call DLL a scam though — it’s a risk control, even if it’s definitely not everyone’s favorite rule.
@TaurusTrader2@MichaelPatak Yeah, the $500 drawdown definitely makes you think differently about position size and patience, especially with the volatility we've been seeing. That’s part of what makes these Lab drops interesting to trade.
@JimMcGee14@TradeDadLog@Topstep Nice. Getting paid on the 25K already gives you some proof of concept, and coming close on the 3K means you were right there. Hope you get this one across the line.
Everyone says 2 micros is too small for the new @Topstep $1,500 Challenge.
I actually think that’s the point.
If you can’t manage risk and prove consistency with 2 micros, adding size isn’t going to fix the problem.
I listen to In the End by Linkin Park before I trade.
Not because of the meaning behind the song, but because it reminds me that no matter how far I get, there’s always another level to reach.
It gets me fired up before the session. 🎸
