I think the Sam Altman x Jony Ive collaboration will result in some sort of AI wearable. They hype it up to be a "breakthrough" in human technology interaction, I think it could really just be OpenAi's take on XR glasses.
@CameronBoultbee @nicdunz@wilson72091 I mean.. thermite is an industrial material used for welding train tracks together for example. Itโs not necessarily illegal or particularly dangerous either unless exposed to an extremely hot ignition flame.
We just wrapped up a really successful Black Friday period!
This year, a brand I've been working with managed to generate over $70k through an email marketing campaign that I implemented.
Here's how I did it:
@harleyf recently shared that Shopify hit an all-time high in revenue generated this Black Friday of around $11.5 Billion (that's insane) curious to hear how everyone's BFCM went!
Just wanted to share this small win here, as it goes to show how a very simple strategy can go a long way if implemented correctly and done in the right moments.
(2/2)
- Understand behavioural design, how friction works and how it can work to your advantage/disadvantage.
- Optimize for user experience & conversion outcomes.
- Know what the next problem for your customer will be after checkout, and provide the solution through upsells.
Main takeaways from this (1/2):
- Plan out a clear, logical path for users that guide them towards conversion.
- Simplify navigation. Fewer options = less confusion and better focus. make every click count.
- Make design decisions with a purpose. Function first, beautify second.
3. UPSELLS
At the end of IKEAโs maze, youโre rewarded with food and snacks. Youโre tired, maybe hungry, and more likely to treat yourself.
This final upsell of $1 hot dogs or meatballs feels like a reward, but itโs really a genius way to squeeze more revenue.
2. MAXIMUM EXPOSURE
Once inside, their maze is strategically designed to expose you to all of their products.
Even if youโre just there helping a friend, by the time you leave, your mind is full of mental notes like, โThat lamp would look great in my living room.โ
1. ONE-WAY-OUT
Their one-way escalators lock you into their journey. Once inside, you must follow the entire path to exit (and checkout).
This physical โcommitmentโ keeps you engaged and increases your exposure to products, making it harder to leave empty-handed.
You walk into IKEA for some plates and leave with a sofa, a plant, and a hotdog.
This isnโt randomโitโs a system.
IKEA have mastered the customer journey.
