@cathaypacific I think it’s great that you have a promo going to Hong Kong from Thailand to boost tourism. I didn’t love that I waited an hour and a half in the queue and then when it was my turn, the website changed and automatically signed me out so I couldn’t apply for it 🤷🏼♀️
Great opportunity to reflect and share experiences about these unique opportunities we have as international educators. Thank you for the conversation John, Dan, and @mckkel!
@VNAirlines are you allowing dogs to travel in cabin from Ho Chi Minh city to Bangkok again? We are having trouble getting a hold of someone when we call and it is not clear on your website! We really hope so!
@AngelaLanglands One way to de-gender could also be to change the audience to the student and then you can use “you”. This might require more steps as you may need permission from you admin to do. In my opinion it also makes students feel like the comment is more for them than just for parents.
@kvillis@ssischool We are getting feedback from students now, so I can let you know more later. We have been in virtual school all semester and one of our whole school focuses has been on wellness. We’ve been looking at PERMAH and in advisory have been focusing on mental and emotional health.
We started the day with a virtual MS Mental WELLth conference. Ss gr 6-8 selected sessions to attend, hosted by their teachers! I co-hosted an interactive session on developing hobbies, interests and skills. I love opportunities to talk about topics like this with Ss. @ssischool
“When you have the opportunity to help others your should” - one of the many reasons @CatrionaCMoran is an incredible leader. How lucky we are at @ssischool to have leaders who take the time to share their experiences and expertise. It’s amazing how much you can learn in 1 hour!
Thank you to all the administrators, teachers and organizers who participated or led sessions today at the @GrcFair Recruitment Bootcamp. Practical advice and tips that I can’t wait to put into practice this recruiting season. Initiatives like this make all of us better!
“I am okay with being a traitor if what I am betraying is a system of oppression for people around the world”. @PerrerasAlysa. A powerful session tonight in the NESA DEIJ course. So grateful to have this opportunity to learn and grow with colleagues from @ssischool
A3: Working with colleagues to plan lessons and share resources and ideas! Our admin have also made more space for us to meet for individual or Dept planning time which has been so valuable #VSengagement#pubPDasia
On Friday one of my Ss told me she was going outside for the first time in 5 months. Today I saw this and all I can think about is how important it is to recognize how resilient our students have already shown us they can be. Let’s meet them where they are, wherever that may be.
I can’t wait to attend conferences in person again, but I really hope recording sessions and virtual conferences become a part of our norm! It makes great PD accessible to more educators. I’ve loved getting to catch up on the #PHASEOnline sessions I missed in my own time! #physed
Working out my body while working out my mind! Catching up on all I missed the past 2 days! So excited to learn from some great educators and professionals from around the world #PHASEOnline. @clos_gm@PELeathwood#SSISPE
Hey PLN! I’m on a strategic planning committee for my school and I would love to hear what interesting, unique or meaningful ways are you getting parents, alumni, staff or other stakeholders involved to provide additional opportunities for student learning?
Making virtual warm ups more engaging by getting Ss involved! Ss made exercise videos using @Flipgrid and I used those videos to create a class “This or That” activity! @ssischool
Middle School PE Equipment Check Out during Virtual School! I love that we are able to provide options for students to help them be active during this time! @ssischool
