Sean McLain walked it off last night in a CRAZY game in Drillville. And, to be honest, it was a game that pretty much encapsulates what this team is and has become, and the Drillers' season as a whole.

It didn't start great. Tulsa looked dead in the water, but Tibbs gave them a Big Bang to get back in it. Several times, it didn't look great, and somehow, they found a way to end up on top with a walk-off from Sean McLain in the bottom of the 12th inning.

That's the 2025 Tulsa Drillers, and I can't say it enough how much credit needs to go to the organization for continuing to support this group through all the low points, and then the leadership of the man below, Eric Wedge.

Wedge has held this thing together, selling professionalism in daily work and getting his players to buy into the idea that their work will win out in the end.

And, it has! Tulsa, by winning last night, maintained its 2-game lead over Wichita for a playoff spot, so, while it's been awesome to watch this team turn things around, there's still a HUGE week ahead. #dodgers

Sean McLain had 2 hits tonight for AA Tulsa, including a ringing double off the boards in left field. McLain is having his best month at the plate in July, hitting .265, and, to be honest, has hit into a TON of tough luck.

In that case, you just keep grindin'! #dodgers

Sean McLain gets an LFG Award for his 3 hits last night.
The hits are great, but I've been tellin' ya' for a week or 2 now how his at-bats have been super quality, and that he hasn't been getting rewarded as well as he should have.

Well, baseball typically evens itself out, and right now that's happening for McLain.

McLain had 3 hits last night, including a single over the 2nd baseman's head that was hit WELL over 100MPH. He spiked another ball back up the box and into center field, then nailed one to the opposite field into right.

This is the kind of approach and execution that just screams "approach", which usually dates back well into the past before the results come.

Well done Sean. From a baseball purist's perspective, that was extremely fun to watch. More Cowbell Please! #dodgers

Sean McLain had a GREAT day for AA Tulsa, pounding out 3 doubles, and in the process driving in 3 RBIs. He also walked once and scored twice.

McLain is a tremendous defender who is in the process of improving his offensive game and becoming someone who is "hitterish," as he puts it, meaning, just hitting line drives all over the field.

No one loves the game, studies it, or enjoys playing more than he does, so you can bet he's gonna keep giving himself the best chance to maximize on his abilities. #dodgers

Sean McLain has been hitting the ball very well for a couple of weeks now and posted 2 more hits tonight. His overall average on the year looks rough because he started very slowly, but he's heatin' up.
