Trump didn't create this mess in Canada. He merely poked his finger into the middle of it to expose what was already festering under the surface.
If Canada wasn't already a quasi-failed state, this wouldn't have triggered a unity crisis -- and there would probably never have been a brewing tariff war, nor threats of annexation. Our weakness is self-inflicted. Trump exposed it for the world to see.
The hysteria about Trump bullying Canada is theatre used by our political classes to evade responsibility for what they have done to their own people over the last 9 years, and beyond.
The real villain is not Trump, it's our own ruling class. In many ways we should be grateful to him for ripping off the band-aid to show the world how broken this country is.
His "bullying" may not be the intervention Canada wants, but it is the intervention Canada desperately needed to force Canada to look in the mirror and confront what it has become.
Fix it, or lose it. Better now than later when we have even less good options left.
Temporarily reducing the GST/HST is dangerous.
GST was reduced twice in the past: from 7% to 6% on July 1, 2006, and from 6% to 5% on January 1, 2008. Both times, the short-term impact was an increase in inflation, not a decrease.
Raising prices short-term can be tempting for retailers looking to increase margins, which could drive prices even higher. A permanent GST cut would have encouraged greater market competition over time.
Canadians will save an average of $4.51 during the two-month pause on GST/PST for groceries.
The generosity is truly overwhelming—thank you, Minister Freeland.
About 3 weeks ago, the media told you that Biden was “sharp as a tack” 🙄
2 days ago, the poor guy was basically forced at gunpoint to resign as Dem nominee. His staff weren’t even informed.
Now they say Kamala is the best thing ever 🤦♂️
"I hold a MILLION cards in your game of Woke victimology poker. And when I leave California, MAYBE you've lost your f***ing mind. Just MAYBE."
Jillian Michaels, a half-Arab, half-Jewish gay woman with a black kid, explains why she is fleeing California 🔥
The Trudeau government laid out their plan on the capital gains tax hike on Sunday.
As she did it, Chrystia Freeland portrayed a world in chaos and violence if this tax hike doesn't go through.
How bizarre!
