There are prudential reasons for anonymous accounts. Persecution is one such reason. Martin Luther was “Knight George” for a time. That said, I don’t have any anonymous accounts. I’ve already suffered for speaking the truth in my own name. I’m not ashamed. But I do hate merciless gossips who wickedly seek to destroy the lives of righteous men when they dare to speak the truth. May God avenge.
Many Christian Nationalists, including pastors, use anonymous accounts to boost themselves or push the envelope.
It appears that defrocked PCA minister @RickApplet0n could be using the @mcnope45141 account to boost his arguments, interact with less acceptable figures, and attack his enemies.
One former parishioner has stated it is their belief that the account is Rick’s, and that he seemed to be aware of current events on Twitter/X long before his current account.
The McNope account posts mostly about Appleton, and references many details from Appleton’s former church. It also shares his sermon links in various threads and seems to engage with most accounts who mention him.
McNope also claims in his bio to be from the same part of Pennsylvania as Appleton.
The McNope account and Appleton’s main account both misspell a former female congregant’s last name (dropping a “c,” both using the same prefix) that they are both preoccupied with posting about.
The McNope account has appeared to respond to itself without knowing which account was logged in correctly.
And those familiar have recognized the pattern of speech from Appleton on the account.
While Appleton is increasingly comfortable with embracing Michael Spangler, McNope has interacted with Stone Choir’s Woe and praised him and Corey Mahler.
Christian Nationalists are constantly deceiving to “hide their power levels.”
Appreciate the early noticing and work of @bsharbaugh on this comparison.
@DineshDSouza So you’ve gone from “I don’t know what total depravity means” to “it’s wrong to think that some people are God’s children” to “wouldn’t it be awesome if a bunch of Christians were damned?” in under 24 hours.
Anyone still want to buy this guy’s books?
One thing you must understand, and you must understand this in the depths of your bones and soul:
You think that your Pastor and Elders are Christians first. But unless they are unabashedly Right Wing...they are not.
If they are mere "Conservatives" or "Libertarians" you must understand that there is a presupposition that they hold to that is more foundational to their religion than scripture could ever be.
Liberalism is their religion. It is the lens through which they interpret every single passage. It is the (often) unknown grid through which every thought, belief, and action is filtered through. It is the standard by which everything is measured, and yes, that includes God's word.
If you do not understand this, you will be horribly confused with the effeminate hands of the Elders finally reach for your throat.
Someone in the Reformed world recently shared all these biblical doctrines on the PBD podcast?
Who was it?
Certainly couldn’t have been a Christian Nationalist.
This is all political. It's why they tolerate liberal alliances with atheists and pro-porn voices like James Lindsay, or will speak alongside Hindus at TPUSA Faith, but have all the vitriol in the world for Team Nationalism (read: anti-liberal order).
Every society punishes blasphemy of its deities and breaches of its dogma, whether by laws or social pressure. For example, we can’t say “ fa**ot” without the fairies and word police screeching at us.
Why care about the PCA as a baptist?
1. I grew up in it. We were taught Keller, not the WCF. None of my peers stayed in the faith.
2. The PCA has made too many compromises. See its treatment of Garris/Appleton.
3. PCA trends matter. Keller’s legacy even beyond the PCA proves it.
@johnandrewwords@AmReformer Why would a normal, reasonable, and ethical believer take issue with someone being a white nationalist?
What if that person happens to be white, and loves their country? What are they to do to remedy this?
This is the guy who is good friends with a sexual predator, right?
This is the guy who was continuously spoke at the G3 conference with known liars and slanderers, right?
This is the guy who took part in a secret pressure campaign, along with a bunch of other Mid-Eva Pastors, against a young Brother in a Baptist church that James has no association with because he did not subscribe to the mainstream narrative surrounding WW2?
This is the guy who said that if you are closer with your unsaved family than with a Christian on the other side of the world "You are not a Christian", right?
Folks, the concerns of Boomer Schoolmarms, hypocrites, and dorks should be either mocked or ignored.
