To celebrate 120 years of The Camogie Association, we asked clubs all over the country to tell us about a special person within their clubs, who has a significant impact on their club and community. 👏

Next up in our Humans of Camogie series is Val Kennedy from Round Towers Clondalkin. 👇

💬'Val is involved with nearly every camogie team in our club. Although she’s not involved in mine, she is very supportive to me. One time I was playing a match and she was spectating, and the other teams side-line were giving me a hard time. She went over and told them to stop and made sure I was ok.'

Val is a stalwart within the Round Towers club in Clondalkin and is currently a coach with the Minor team as well as assisting with the younger teams. She is actively engaged in promoting Camogie, and even arranged for a young team to take part in the Electric Ireland Hurl with Me day in 2022. 👏

During half time of our Glen Dimplex All-Ireland Intermediate Final yesterday in Croke Park, we welcomed our All-Ireland Championship winning captains to the pitch, led by Kay Ryder who captained the All-Ireland Camogie Championship winning team in 1965 and 1966.🎉
