@adoniaayebare@kasujja@SecRubio I am glad, @adoniaayebare, that you say, now, that the ICC has “lost its way”. I seem to recall that Uganda gleefully invited Moreno Ocampo into its bedroom, even when we advised that it was a terribly bad idea.
@TonyNatif You wouldn’t know it if you’ve never gotten wrapped lost in the rhythms of Kadodi Kenyini somewhere in the bottoms of Buginyanya. Indali usually has a hand in it.
War has returned to northern Ethiopia, thanks to elites who did not have the courage to give peace a chance.

BIG NEWS: U.S. Congress targets the Iran–Houthi smuggling network in the Horn: Djibouti is finally under the microscope
#Thread
1/3-Nearly two years after I became the first scholar to expose Djibouti’s role in the Iran–Houthi smuggling, illicit finance, and money-laundering network, something remarkable is happening in Washington. A pending Senate NDAA amendment would direct State to investigate Houthi smuggling networks in Djibouti and across the Horn of Africa.
In 2024, writing at the Middle East Institute, I warned that Djibouti was not merely a military-base hub sitting safely beside the Red Sea crisis. Its ports, financial channels, and strategic geography were becoming part of a much darker Iran–Houthi illicit network.
@TonyNatif Wacha wewe. When has being a Queen ever been a docile role. Across time and place, the monarchy has been an institution of deadly internal intrigue. This one is just taking place during the tweeter age. History is littered with the Andrew Mwendas and whatnot of this world.
@_hudsonc@_hudsonc, I am sure you’ve heard of problems without good—let alone perfect— solutions? Sudan is one of them. The proposal of elections under the current conditions will only deliver your worst case outcome. I can bet some body parts in that.
Sudan has signed an MoU with Saudi Arabia's Twaik Group to rehabilitate the war-hit Khartoum oil refinery and construct a new commercial refining plant in Port Sudan.
The downstream initiative aims to restore domestic processing capacity and leverage Red Sea shipping corridors.

@TonyNatif My issues are smaller by comparison. I struggle to wrap my head around the fact that a potential Tooro King might be called David, Jacob or even Jackson. This thing is refusing to settle in my head.
