Officer Kobia from the Blacksburg Police Dept. K-9 unit, reads to HES classes for our Read-A-Thon/Bookolopoly fundraiser. His dog is a Pointer so he is reading a non-fiction book about Pointers.
Last week, it was National Get Out Your Guitar Day. Mr. Holliman, a 4th grade teacher, volunteered during his own free planning time to play for the 3rd grade students during library before we read our book of the day!
Congratulations to our very own Dr. Kelly Passek for being named Virginia School Librarian of the year. @VAASL Her work as a media specialist provides a showcase for the amazing and important role of school libraries across the state.
I would argue education is not data or curriculum driven and not even student driven. Education is relationship driven. Teachers thrive w/ positive admin relationships & students thrive w/ positive teacher relationships. Relationships drive education.
