🧡 National Truth and Reconciliation Day 🧡
Today, we pause to honor the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, and their families and communities.
At Hamilton Paramedic Service, we recognize that truth must come before reconciliation. As health care providers, we are committed to listening, learning, and supporting Indigenous health and healing.
We acknowledge the deep and lasting impacts of colonialism on Indigenous Peoples and the health inequities that persist. We stand in solidarity with Indigenous communities and pledge to continue building culturally safe and trauma-informed care for all.
Let today be a reminder: reconciliation is not a single act, but a journey we walk together—with humility, compassion, and respect.

oday marks a major milestone—the successful integration between St. Joseph’s Dovetale/Epic electronic medical record system and ambulance call data, made possible through our collaboration with FirstWatch. This achievement is a Hamilton first!
This groundbreaking connection is the result of strong partnership and teamwork between St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, FirstWatch, the Hamilton Paramedic Service, and the Ministry of Health’s Central Ambulance Communications Centre (CACC). By linking hospital and ambulance data, we're enhancing operational performance and real-time situational awareness for paramedics, hospital staff, and dispatch teams alike.

Today, our community faced an unimaginable tragedy. Over 20 Hamilton Paramedic units responded to a devastating structure fire that claimed young lives and left many others injured. This heartbreaking event has deeply affected everyone involved.
Our thoughts are with the victims, their loved ones, and the entire community as we navigate this immense loss together.
We also want to acknowledge the incredible teamwork displayed by our first responder family. Hamilton Fire, Hamilton Police, and our Paramedic crews worked tirelessly under extremely difficult circumstances. These moments remind us of the emotional and physical toll our teams endure to serve and protect.
To our responders: Please take care of yourselves and each other. Lean on the support available to you—we are stronger together.
To our community: Hold your loved ones a little tighter tonight. Let’s unite in supporting those affected by this tragedy.
