Greek City Times published an open letter to Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey this week. It reads in part:
"We did not vanish. Greek people did not disappear after the age of myth. Greek culture was not frozen in classical marble. We are still here. For more than 3,000 continuous years, Greek identity has persisted."
The addendum: "Given Hollywood's insistence for minority representation, authenticity and diversity — where are the Greeks, or the Greek Americans in this Greek story?"
The film shot in Greece, with Greek funding, across Greek locations. Not one cast member is Greek.
Hollywood required diversity for every production except this one.
Aaron was my teammate in Afghanistan on my first deployment. I didn’t know anything. He taught me, and taunted me as any good NCO does.
He earned multiple valor awards on that deployment and almost got killed several times. When he finally got out, we all breathed a sigh of relief.
Less than 100 days after exiting the Army, he died due to VA negligence in Nashville.
He deserved better. He deserved a long life.
I miss him.
Someone who nobody has ever heard of, declined 8 debates, and took $20 million in donations from Israel “won” a primary from an 8 year constituent.
We’re cooked.
@LW1307@PatrologyVotary On whose authority do you stand to vilify someone, or as you’d probably put it “hold them accountable?” Thats the Priest’s job. You should encourage someone to repent rather than drive them away from the Church forever
@PatrologyVotary As somebody who’s Orthodox, it is 100% the Priest’s responsibility to hold people accountable and get them to repent. This is what happens when people take matters in their own hands
Me and that Katherine lady didn’t get along on here, but the way she was treated for gently pointing out genuine problems in the Orthodox convert world only exposed the depth of these people’s malice and hatred.
“Hospital for sinners”, people will say. And yet they seek to not be taking their medicine. At what point do you have to cut off a malignancy before it spreads?
To all the employees of @SpiritAirlines Mae sure you call (202) 224-4543 and lodge your complaint with @SenWarren so she knows the hurt she caused you.
