The reason I ask Muslims not to join these protests is that, after the protest ends, it is often Muslim youth who get arrested, while many organisers don’t really stand by those who end up spending years in jail. In the end, it is usually Muslim organisations and the community that step in to help them.

Just look at how close Kanhaiya Kumar and Umar Khalid were during the JNU protests. Today, Kanhaiya doesn’t even seem to associate himself with Umar and hasn’t made a single statement in his support.
