Great News for International Medical Graduates (IMGs):

An "Advisory Commission on Alternative Licensing Model" has been set up to offer advice on state licensing for IMGs who have completed their training abroad.

This means they will be able to practice in the USA (under supervision) without the need for completing a residency program.
(Some states have already allowed it).

Even with the rising number of US medical students, there is expected to be a continued shortage of doctors for the foreseeable future.
IMGs can help bridge this gap.
