isnt it a bit wild that universally people in school and workplaces were taught to approach wikipedia with skepticism for potential misinformation and now everyones virtually lobotomized by gen AI chatbots that just make shit up and youre expected to use them in some cases
I think the long gaps between seasons of shows are a huge part of how insane fandom has become. people get SO invested, and have years to tell themselves what the show is. their opinions about characters calcify until any evolution is seen as the writers making a mistake.
Man I still think about these gen 6 type icons. The colors are perfect. Like the red orange for fire, the contrast in pinks of both psychic and fairy. Like how psychic is more reddish and calming while fairy is bright pink. Like it's so bright bc it doubles as a light type. Man.
whole tl vague af like “that one popular fic i hate SO MUCH” “the only popular fic that actually deserves the hype” “the only hollanov AU i can actually stand” what if we smiled
YouTube has just taken down the political discussion clip about the EU's Chat Control, and the video is no longer viewable in the EU.
This has been confirmed by several parties. The video is still available outside the EU.
@puheenaihefi podcast is a Finnish current affairs program with 60k subscribers. In this episode, Peter Sund, CEO of the Finnish Information Security Cluster (Kyberala ry) offered pointed criticism of the EU's new Chat Control directive, which was enacted under questionable circumstances.
Because the media is in Finnish, it is highly likely the censorship request came from a Finnish government official or a related party.
This makes it troublesome.
Because the Finnish constitution §12 guarantees freedom of expression.
Preventing political publications is a criminal offence: Abuse of Official Position, punishable by a fine or imprisonment for up to two years.

Christopher Nolan says younger audiences are utterly rejecting AI-generated slop.
“[My sons'] judgment of AI slop has been immediate and harsh. They see it for what it is very quickly – and it’s much easier for them to identify it, because it grew out of an online world they know really well.”

BREAKING: Chat Control is coming.
As we feared, Von Der Leyen's dirty tricks worked exactly as intended.
Despite a majority of the votes being against the proposal, their 'urgent' vote requires for an absolute majority based on seats in the parliament, rather than members actually present in parliament during the vote.
Chat Control is being shoved down our throats, and the Political Elite is laughing in our faces.
This means the Council now has to negotiate: they whether to accept the exclusion of encrypted messages from Chat Control (protecting our privacy!) or the text falls. A tremendous win by the European liberals.
🚨 #ChatControl 1.0 HAS PASSED - despite a majority voting against it (314:276) 🚨
After the EU parliament has rejected #ChatControl TWICE in the past, it has been pushed as an urgent procedure for a new plenary vote. TODAY the EU parliament has voted YES for #ChatControl 1.0😡
The EU has simply continued to put the vote on the agenda to get the outcome they've wanted since the start. This is not democratic‼️
What does #ChatControl 1.0 mean for us now?
🚩 Every photo, every message, every file you send will be scanned by Big Tech automatically
🚩 Mass surveillance of 450 million EU citizen without warrants
🚩 Every citizen is put under general suspicion
Here's what you can do to stay private on the internet:
✅ Use end-to-end encrypted messengers & email (like Signal or Tuta Mail)
✅ Use Linux instead of Windows & Apple
✅ Switch to GraphenOS or LineageOS
It's a sad day for the privacy of EU citizens but we will not let this stop us from continuing to fight for what is right.
At Tuta, we will continue to provide end-to-end encrypted email to everyone, and we will continue to fight for everyone's right to communicate without surveillance.

How are you enfocing #chatcontrol in Portugal @EP_President ? Our constitution strictly prohibits the violation of private communications.
"1. The home and the privacy of correspondence and other means of private communication are inviolable."
