I know customer interviews can happen where you don't get any usable information. It had been going so well this quarter I was taken aback when the customer only wanted to discuss their participation gift card. 🤨
People in technical support roles, please do not start the conversation with "How is your day going?" in an effort to be conversational. I'm talking to support how great could it possibly be?
@EA your support leaves a lot to be desired. I've been told after opening a ticket that I need to get help from the community for a software bug... good one.
I'm not afraid of AI taking my job, but I'm excited about it taking over parts of my job that can boost my productivity. Like writing impact statements I can input the parameters and then massage the output spending less time on it which frees me up for other creative tasks.
Regular 1:1s with the developers in my team as well as product helps me balance my thinking between business, technical feasibility, and the goals for people using our product. Surprisingly this comes from just observing what the different roles like to discuss.
Something I'm unlearning in 2023? That I'm only worthy if I'm highly productive all the time. It's not sustainable or realistic. Off days are NORMAL. I'm also usually way more in flow the next day after giving myself a little grace anyway.
I started keeping a skills histogram in my Career Management Document. Anytime I'm feeling like I want to learn something new I add it to the list 🙌 It has helped me keep track of all those ideas as they come up.
I've had a really productive week but man I'm ready to relax and play some video games over the holiday weekend. Especially now that the stress of Christmas is behind us!
I love the idea of a physical planner but about 2 weeks into it I never carry it or use it anymore. I sometimes wish my ical could be more customizable. But then would I hate the chaos of it? 🤔
Creating content is hard. I don't think we really consider how hard until you see someone with a ring light, 5 cameras, and 100 takes to make a 15 second clip. 😂
the best ideas i ever shipped came from engineers on my team. an engineer's job is NOT only to code. they are incredible problem solvers and are ridiculously creative.
they understand the tech, know what is possible, and will be building it.
involve them early and often!
