#July1: graduating physicians become interns (1st yr resident physicians) and spend the next 3-7 years training avg 80+ hrs/w to become the best MD/DO to lead your care. New interns have ~5000 hrs hands-on clinical training even before July 1! #trainingmatters#heartofaphysician
Random thought - when do we start using recyclable materials for conference name tags? The one I have now will have no use after 3 days. #ReduceReuseRecycle
i find it odd that specialists who have spent 15+ yrs training & 1000s of hrs in the field are considered “unqualified” to talk about medicine
& people who have taken a set of (often useless) health policy/MBA classes + memorized the right answers are considered “experts”
1) Pay your [future] self first by saving 10%+ into retirement plans.
2) Consistently set aside money into an emergency fund(s) for rainy days and predictable expense like home repairs.
3) Pay your bills.
4) Spend the rest.
Would you want someone who is a nurse that did a “Saturday Residency” taking care of you especially with no physician oversight? It is allowed in many states. Physicians average 3 year full time residency programs after 4 years of medical school. #wechoosenps supervised
