This amendment has been reviewed by many parties and is the result of a series of discussions we’ve had over the past two weeks. I am supportive of it and so are our local clerks. Great rundown of the Early Voting Plan that was removed from consideration by Chair Moss on Tuesday.

Two important points:

One, of the just over $300,000 the County is putting in, $202,000 of that will be reimbursed to us by the state, leaving a total net County investment of around $100,000.

Two, the net County investment of $100K will help create savings of approximately of around $600,000 for taxpayers at the local level. So, far from being ‘a massive burden of hundreds of thousands of dollars’, our involvement is a relatively small investment of $100K to help save 6x that Countywide at the local level.
