But she preferred to work under the pseudonym "Khanum Hosseini" or "Mrs. Hosseini," as a teacher, without revealing her lineage, her husband, or her father!

Her close friend, Majedeh Mohammadi, visited her at her home and was surprised by its simplicity. She found only a simple rug, some woolen cushions, a small kitchen near the entrance, and two small rooms, all within a space no larger than 80 square meters!

Her parents... and everyone else praises their simple and humble lifestyle.

No designer labels, no expensive Chanel bags, no diamond-encrusted watches, no motorcades, and no bodyguards in suits following her around.

She's the daughter-in-law of the leader of a nuclear state! The daughter of the speaker of parliament and a member of the Expediency Discernment Council, one of the highest bodies in the country.

She holds a master's degree, but chose to work as a teacher in the undercover neighborhoods of southern Tehran.

India’s Sangh Parivar is modern enough to radicalise westernised urban youth into hating Muslims through Instagram reels, YouTube shorts, and WhatsApp universities, but suddenly becomes medieval when the topic is India’s meat and seafood diversity.

Apparently butter chicken made India globally famous, but now foreign dignitaries must pretend boiled potatoes and “satvik thalis” are the peak of Indian civilisation.

Any serious government interested in soft power would use India’s gigantic culinary diversity as diplomatic capital. Thailand does it. Turkey does it. Korea does it. Vietnam does it. But Hindutva’s ideological insecurity overrides national branding every single time. Hindutva first. National interest later.

The same ecosystem that screams “decolonise International Relations” suddenly develops selective amnesia about India’s centuries old Indo Muslim culinary traditions, Mughlai cuisine, coastal seafood cultures, tribal meat traditions, and royal non vegetarian gastronomy. Apparently decolonisation is acceptable only until the kebabs arrive.

The funniest part is the online defenders of this “satvik diplomacy” are often the same people addicted to ultra processed snacks, palm oil chips, sugar loaded sweets, restaurant junk food, and 3 AM Swiggy orders. They will lecture others about “purity” while their bloodstream is chemically 40 percent masala flavoured preservatives. A political movement that constantly worships Machiavellian “pragmatism” suddenly becomes morally delicate about meat consumption in one of the most protein deficient countries on Earth. Incredible transformation. The desi Machiavelli apparently faints at the sight of chicken curry.

Meanwhile, casually discussing chicken recipes on food vlogs probably does more to normalise contemporary Indian reality among young people than fifty government tourism campaigns screaming “incredible India” beside another bowl of diplomatic khichdi.

India possesses one of the richest seafood and meat traditions on the planet. Bengali fish culture, Kashmiri wazwan, Kerala beef fry, Nagaland smoked pork, Mughlai cuisine, Goan seafood, tribal hunting traditions, coastal food cultures, Hyderabadi biryani, Lucknowi kebabs. Yet the state behaves as if Indian civilisation will collapse the moment a foreign dignitary sees a prawn. That is not cultural confidence. That is ideological insecurity disguised as civilisation.
