The name Patriots for Europe is a grotesque joke.

The members of this parliamentary group are among the most compliant instruments of Russian foreign policy currently operating in Western democracy.

It is deeply ironic that a group defined by its anti-globalist, sovereignist stance is so eager to serve a foreign imperialist power.

While Russia carries out war, hybrid operations, assassinations, and disinformation campaigns across Europe, these politicians actively defend the Kremlin's narrative on the parliamentary floor.

Their parliamentary record exposes their true loyalties. They routinely oppose any meaningful pushback against Russian aggression, trying to starve Ukraine of defensive resources and fracture the common European front. This compliance directly compromises the long-term safety and independence of every European country.

You cannot be a patriot while siding with an autocrat who wants to see your alliances collapse and your neighbors conquered. Their rhetoric is a cheap shield designed to hide a profound betrayal of European values. They are pushing foreign interests for a living, and their fake patriotism deserves absolute contempt. Non ho mai scritto a riguardo della raffineria di alluminio ad Aughinish in Irlanda; pensavo erroneamente: quanto alluminio può mai produrre l’Irlanda per la Russia?

Mi sbagliavo. La raffineria di Aughinsh, posseduta dal colosso russo “Rusal” (posseduto dall’oligarca Deripaska) produce un terzo di tutto il (poco) alluminio ancora prodotto in Europa. Tutto questo alluminio è trasportato in Russia dove viene usato per nutrire lo stesso complesso militare industriale che rade al suolo le città ucraine facendo stragi di civili.

Ma lo scandalo è ancora maggiore di quello che potrebbe sembrare: che le sanzioni europee non siano affatto complete e permettano ancora tali follie non era una novità. Quello che personalmente mi ha scandalizzato è il modo in cui i politici irlandesi, incalzati dal bravissimo reporter Caolan, neghino che la raffineria abbia una qualche connessione con il complesso militare russo, nonostante tutto, a partire dalle insegne fuori dalla struttura, porti a tale conclusione.

Questa roba deve finire all’istante. La raffineria va sanzionata, chiusa e basta.

This is so insanely corrupt, I can’t even believe it.

More than half the donors to Trump’s $400 million White House ballroom just won over $50 billion in new federal contracts in six months.

And here’s the part that should make your blood boil.

Sixteen of these 27 donors were facing federal enforcement actions, antitrust reviews, labor cases, securities charges. Many of those cases have been quietly dropped or scaled back since Trump took office. You write a check, your legal problems disappear. That’s not a coincidence.

The White House won’t even release the full donor list. They’re hiding it on purpose, because daylight is the one thing pay-to-play can’t survive. A federal judge already ruled ballroom construction has to stop until Congress authorizes it.

Government is supposed to serve the people, not auction itself off to the highest bidder. When access goes to whoever pays the most, working families always end up paying the price.

Ireland defense for supplying roughly 90% of EU alumina exports to Russia is that the EU never sanctioned alumina.
But when it came to Israel, Ireland didn't wait for the EU.
Dublin pushed ahead with its own Occupied Territories legislation, openly challenging the EU's common trade policy and arguing that moral considerations required action.
Apparently, "we can't act without Brussels" applies to Russia, but not to Israel.
Interesting standard.
