@shaun_has_em Hutson's emergence alone made this season a positive one, but the real progress seen in other core pieces (Caufield, Ghule) and the strong play solidify this as an important step forward.

@ARHockeyStats Slafkovsky

[michael mcdonald @mdaymcdonald]

@ABetterWorld101 @BasuAndGodin Whoops I meant Gurianov!

[michael mcdonald @mdaymcdonald]

@ABetterWorld101 @BasuAndGodin Fair point, but I’m think a Gavrikov style pick up or a short term cap dump on a ufa who a team needs to get rid of to make another deal possible - not a big name ala Dach

[michael mcdonald @mdaymcdonald]

@shaunhashim RHP on the first line? Good.
Everything else? Pretty meh.

[michael mcdonald @mdaymcdonald]

@g_charbs @HabsLinks Way better!

[michael mcdonald @mdaymcdonald]

@shaunhashim I’m all for it for fun, but the question then is which vet can we shed for Kessel to have a place?

[michael mcdonald @mdaymcdonald]

@AndrewBerkshire Great synopsis - only thing I’d add is he did clear spots for young guys to play, which itself is important given where they are in the rebuild.

[michael mcdonald @mdaymcdonald]

@stephen_burtch Not a leafs fan but an active observer of their ascent - totally agree with you. I think the challenge was compounded by not selling JVR, Bozak and company in 2017. Those assets would have made a big difference in 2019-2022

[michael mcdonald @mdaymcdonald]

@shaunhashim Hate that I agree - the year they buy him out (or pay to ship him out) is the year the Habs decide they are being competitive again

[michael mcdonald @mdaymcdonald]

@parvzy I think the oilers would agree with you

[michael mcdonald @mdaymcdonald]

@scottmatla Yup

[michael mcdonald @mdaymcdonald]

@ArponBasu Sorry to bother you on a Friday afternoon, but didn't the Habs promise an update on Monahan this week?

[michael mcdonald @mdaymcdonald]

@phendrana I’m a very amateur painter but I’ve liked the Vallejo’s for my aldari and CSM

[michael mcdonald @mdaymcdonald]

Random #habs fact - should the Monahan trade go through they’ll have had 6 players drafted in the first round play for the organization - Drouin, Domi, Rychel, Shinkaruk, McCaron and Monahan. Paging @DownGoesBrown any other examples like this?

[michael mcdonald @mdaymcdonald]

@phendrana @parvzy Also, yes.

[michael mcdonald @mdaymcdonald]

@ZachWeiner Hahah well this is what I get for tweeting and half paying attention - “guns, god and country”

[michael mcdonald @mdaymcdonald]

@ZachWeiner Southerner - it’s the furthest from the “Canadian” accent and also conveys the stereotype of “gods, guns and Jesus” that is the go to for American stereotypes
