@NewsHour@paulsolman This is really awful bc people are unable to afford vet care their animals need. My cat’s last vet care was over $1500 for bloodwork, radiology, urine tests. I have 3 cats that I would go into debt for, but the rising costs could lead to people choosing no vet care.
Veterinary care is becoming increasingly expensive for American pet owners.
As prices rise, attention is turning to a major shift in the industry: private equity firms and large corporations buying up veterinary practices across the country.
@paulsolman has the story.
Steven Spielberg: “I believe the cosmos is teeming with life… Is that life currently interacting with us?”
“When I made Close Encounters I thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if this could come true?’ With everything that’s happened from 1977 til today, I can now make Disclosure Day and say — ‘Isn’t it going to be wonderful when people realize after seeing this movie that everything is true, and has been true?’”
@TheUfoJoe I mean, truly I wonder about Burchett’s intentions? If you follow his politics you know who he is. Why would he be honest with this info? I’m not saying he won’t be, but i don’t see otherwise that he is trustworthy? I’d love to know what he’s got… but what will be disinfo?
This interview with former Senator Ben Sasse is strong stuff.
He’s using the time he has left to speak honestly about life and politics, and a big part of his challenge to us is to find a way to repair our political conversation.
One of his main points is that the addiction to outrage that social media has fueled has done nothing to help us reach practical solutions to hard problems.
He's absolutely right about that, and I really respect that his final political project is conveying genuine hope and encouragement that we lift ourselves to meet this moment as friends, neighbors, and citizens.
