The Amherst boys 4x400 relay team closed out the 2026 OHSAA State Track & Field Championships with an outstanding 3rd-place finish and a school-record time of 3:18.11!
Congratulations to Julius Donald, Ethan Wilhelms, Carter Boone, and Ben Thompson for earning a spot on the state podium and finishing among Ohio’s best.

This weekend showcased everything Amherst Track & Field is about: hard work, teamwork, resilience, and excellence.
From our pole vaulters earning medals to record-breaking relay performances, our athletes represented Amherst with pride on Ohio’s biggest stage. The boys’ 4x200 rewrote the record books with a school record, Lorain County record, and Division II State Meet record, while the boys’ 4x400 closed the weekend with a 3rd-place finish and another school record.
Most importantly, our athletes competed with heart, character, and determination.
