@drjohnm These are all excellent ideas, unfortunately promoted by someone who also promoted pseudoscience (vaccines causing autism, antidepressants causing school shootings, etc.). We need some qualified to run DHHS who upholds honesty and integrity in science and medicine.
@DBelardoMD Absolutely heartbreaking. I am extremely sorry. Bewildering how there are no discussions to legislate putting an end to this harmful practice.
@drjohnm I thought about your consistent advice to resist the urge to overablate patients, especially those with comorbidities. In this piece from JAMA Cardiology, it may have saved a life had the intramural hematoma been known.

@AmHeartAdvocacy Congenital heart defects are the most common birth defect in the United States, about 1% of all births, and are large contributors to sudden cardiac death or cardiac arrest. Many kids and adults live normally this happens after exercise, so education and awareness are needed.
@StickyzLR@kingdomcollapse Great show last night and awesome meeting you all! Will look you up when I'm traveling or if you're in Cincinnati for a show!
@christingodale Loves destroying published papers? Yes, that student needs intervention. Otherwise, said graduate student may be a sadistic serial killer!
I received my 2nd dose of Pfizer's COVID vaccine yesterday. 17 hours and I haven't experienced any adverse reactions. Only mild soreness in my left SHOULDER. Some get fevers, but they quickly resolve 24hrs later so worth it. Never miss opportunity to get a vaccine.
While the spreading SARS-CoV-2 variants are concerning, the immune systems in vaccinated people are still primed for strong responses that prevent severe illness and death. Bottom line: Vaccines still work, never miss an opportunity to get a vaccine. https://t.co/MaoFQdqQaU
Really good data demonstrating what happened with herd immunity from natural infection approach. Lots of people die, the virus evolves and the it happens again. https://t.co/7ik863Ko7X
@crackedscience Those following, a great person to follow regarding overtesting and the resulting trillion dollar tug of war between payers and providers is @vivianleemd, author of "The Long Fix." Insightful resource about finding solutions to healthcare in the US utilizing value-based medicine
Every year, Bill and I write a letter with our perspective on how to meet the world’s most pressing challenges.
Our 2021 letter is about how the world can bring an end to COVID-19 and turn the hard-won lessons of this pandemic into a healthier, more equal future for all.
It was an early, cold Saturday morning, but the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine was definitely work it. It was as quick and easy as turning on a light switch, and still don't feel a thing 3 hours later. Second dose is in 3 weeks. To making the community safer 🍻
Humbled by the opportunity to share my research journey, courtesy my latest "alma mater"- University of Cincinnati. Like many PhD students, my journey has many bends in the road, but I relished the learning and the lifelong friendships. So here it is. Thank you UC 😊❤️.
A decades old epidemic inspires UC doctoral student’s journey into science. Twists and turns end with a rewarding finish for College of Medicine graduate and Trinidad native, Matthew de Gannes. Read his story: https://t.co/GNwmwsOrTM #UCGrad20
@christingodale Thank you for your kind words! I'm really glad that we got to work together at HSGA and that we've fostered that lifelong friendship in the process!
