#ICYMI: Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 38-year-old South African woman at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja, after discovering 5.75 kilograms of heroin concealed in her luggage.

The agency said the suspect allegedly used her three-year-old son as a cover in an attempt to beat security checks and evade thorough screening.

Today in Ado Ekiti, I presented my Nomination and Expression of Interest forms to the leaders of our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti Central Senatorial District, officially confirming my intentions to run for another term as the senator representing the good people of Ado Ekiti, Irepodun/Ifelodun, Ekiti West, Efon and Ijero Local Government Areas in the 11th National Assembly by the grace of Almighty God.

I want to express my profound appreciation to my leaders, His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and his wife Dr Olayemi Oyebanji, the First Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo including other leaders too many to mention here for this opportunity to return to the senate for the third term back-to-back.

Today, I attended the official flag-off of the Governorship Election Campaign of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji held at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado Ekiti. The outing was indeed encouraging and symbolic of the electoral victory that we envisage on June 20th, 2026 guber election.

In my remarks as the Chairman State Campaign Council, I thanked all the national leaders of our party who graced today's declaration and reassured that no stone will be left unturned in achieving the task ahead of us.

The success of this Governorship Election will be a precursor to the victory for All Progressives Congress (APC) offices in Ekiti during the coming general election.

Few hours ago, I joined a delegation of the Senate to an important meeting with the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Foreces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, at the State House, Abuja.

Far-reaching decisions were taken at this strategic meeting which deliberated on matters of urgent national importance; as occasioned by the resolution passed at the executive session of the Senate on Wednesday, 22nd April, 2026.

Thank you Mr President for the audience. I also want to assure Nigerians that the 10th Senate will continue to interface with other arms of government at the highest level in overriding public interest.
