#DisclosureDay will be divisive, especially with its penchant for ambiguity. It's messy but consistently compelling. Its mysteries don't always land, yet a haunting finale, a sublime turn from Emily Blunt, and the best John Williams score in years make up for the film's excesses.

#DisclosureDay is very much a movie of two halves. The first being a clunky, long winded set up that has its intriguing moments, but offers more confusing and curious choices from Spielberg than expected. The second half then showcases a lot of the reasons why he is a legendary titan of filmmaking. Not everything lands, but there are moments of pure cinema, both on intimate and blockbuster scale, in the last 45 minutes of this movie that bring this ride home strong.

I was completely blown away by DISCLOSURE DAY. Spielberg taps into the same sense of wonder that made his sci-fi classics so special while telling a story that feels distinctly of our moment. Emily Blunt is best in show. Few filmmakers understand awe quite like Spielberg!

Spielberg’s #DisclosureDay is a lot of fun and harken’s back to the director’s early 00’s work where he was actively being a little more playful with his films. More Minority Report than Encounters. Incredible Blunt, great Firth. Good chase film full of wonder.
