@ALionEye 3/ You have your health. You have a family that supports you. You have your dream job, which offers you access to Illinois events most of us will never experience in our lifetime. All that and yet you lack perspective. Be grateful for what you have. Besides, it's just a game.
@ALionEye 1/ Schadenfreude. You invest EVERYTHING into this program and get very little in return. The hyperbolic comments don't help: "most painful loss of my lifetime...dance on my broken heart..." Robert, have perspective. It's disappointing but in the bigger picture, so what? Tell us.
@ALionEye 2/ Most fans are unhappy, disappointed, etc., but we move on. We realize there are so many things in life WAY more important than the outcome of a single game or the ups and downs of a very average football program. But you act as though you received a death sentence.
@RPG_volley These guys are all insulated by their 20+ years, knowing the worst that can happen is being asked to retire (with benefits in hand). Only the galactically stupid (see: Scheller) nuke their careers short of the 20-yr mark. It's a great feeling knowing you're vested.
