IS UNLIMITED INTERNET DATA REALLY UNLIMITED?
Yesterday I found out the true meaning of unlimited data, which I’m sure many of us don’t know coz we never read the Terms and Conditions.

For context, I subscribe to @mtnug WakaNet unlimited at 10Mbps. It all started when my Netflix wouldn’t load properly. I wanted to watch the Jeffery Epstein files I thought I was being blocked👀. So started wondering what’s wrong. So I did the speed test and it showed about 1Mbps😳. That’s when I knew something wasn’t right.

After a little research, I found out about the internet “Fair Usage Policy”. Under this policy, despite subscribing to unlimited data, only 25GB of data is guaranteed at 10Mbps for what they refer to as your “daily quota”. This quota varies depending on the speed you subscribe to. e.g. 18Mbps gives 40GB etc. I guess the rationale behind this policy is to equally distribute internet across the board, which is understandable.

But once you’ve consumed your daily quota, you’ll still have internet, but at the lowest quality possible. So for me to get the 10Mbps again, I have to wait till 8am the following day, so it’s not so “unlimited” after all.

Btw, this is all stipulated in the T&Cs, which I only read yesterday. WHAT A SCAM! 😆
