Another chilling shooting by a federal agent in Minneapolis, this time of a nurse. My heart goes out to Alex Pretti's family.
We cannot let Nigel Farage and Reform import Trump’s dark politics to the UK.
My father taught me that there are few tragedies greater than a parent losing a child.
As with the family of Renee Good, the bravery of Alex Pretti's parents in the face of this tragedy is inspiring.
The least we can do is share the truth about their son.
Statement from the family of Alex Pretti, Michael and Susan Pretti:
“We are heartbroken but also very angry.
Alex was a kindhearted soul who cared deeply for his family and friends and also the American veterans whom he cared for as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital. Alex wanted to make a difference in this world. Unfortunately he will not be with us to see his impact. I do not throw around the hero term lightly. However his last thought and act was to protect a woman.
The sickening lies told about our son by the administration are reprehensible and disgusting. Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trump’s murdering and cowardly ICE thugs. He has his phone in his right hand and his empty left hand is raised above his head while trying to protect the woman ICE just pushed down all while being pepper sprayed.
Please get the truth out about our son. He was a good man. Thank you”
This is what a true leader looks like. And it sickens me to my core that 77 million people instead chose a malignant, narcissistic monster; one of the most evil men to walk the earth.
Some are irredeemable scumbags; fine. The rest need to attone.
Alex Jeffrey Pretti was an ICU nurse at a VA hospital. His life, through his profession, was dedicated to serving his community and our country.
As so many have now seen on video, his final act before he was killed by federal agents was doing everything in his power to protect his community.
Alex and tens of thousands of Minnesotans have boldly defended their neighbors against the murderous occupation of an American city by the federal government. I am enraged and heartbroken for Alex, his family, Minneapolis, and America.
This. 100% this.
Today's execution and that of Renee Good were fucking disgusting. The blatant lies and propaganda from the Führer and the scumbags in his despicable, sadist Reich are unsurprising, yet disgusting and stupid.
And that's just two recent examples. Enough.
Stop. You have no further credibility here. Leave this country, flee, take your wretched condescending stupid wife, and your hatreds and your vendettas and your sadism and the rest of your wasted irretrievable life and GTFO
CONGRATULATIONS TO DONALD ON WINNING THE "I CAN'T WIN THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE BECAUSE I'M WARMONGER AND A CLOWN SO I ATTACKED VENEZUELA AND FORCED THEM TO GIVE ME THEIR PRIZE WHICH I WILL BRING TO ALL MY MEETINGS AND WATCH MY CABINET MEMBERS CLAP LIKE CYMBAL-BANGING MONKEY TOYS."
This really does hit hard. And I think it should.
I feel for the family and the community in their grief, and admire their bravery in pulling together - particularly to support the 6 year old boy orphaned by this tragedy.
This hit hard.
Philip Bump breaking down over the stuffed animals in Renee Good’s car; saying “this was a family that could’ve been like mine,” cuts through all the spin.
That’s the part they want ignored. A mother. A family. A life ended.
It's now 9:25; thus far no one has contacted me and apparently I have to rearrange delivery for a slot you have quietly failed to meet - for a fairly crucial household appliance to a family with young children.
@johnlewishelp this is absurd for a fridge delivery.
No one has contacted me. I only learned by refreshing the tracking links that it's delayed, then I need to rearrange, but apparently it can't be today.
I've been refreshing the tracking link throughout the delivery slot. At 8:24 it's updated to delayed. By ~8:55, "delivery needs to be scheduled". However I can pick nothing for today (I am presented with an error).
But this experience could easily become difficult and distressing to parents/kids and/or persons with disabilities who may not be able to work around. And in principle, no one should really have to.
Can you please look into this?
Hi @LNRailway - I travelled on the 1323 EUS-BLY train with my 2yo son in the front 4/12 carriages.
Badly needed to change him but the only accessible toilet & 1/2 small toilets out of order.
Doors to rear carriages not working so couldn't even look for other accessible toilets.
Although I appreciate the workout carrying a toddler bearing pushchair down the flight of stairs gave me, and recognise that bad luck is a factor in all of this, there were a lot of failings here. I'm fortunate enough to be able to (somewhat) work around them...
