I want @KemiBadenoch to be the next leader of the Conservative Party. Here's why.
I've had some contact with Kemi and have found her to be someone that cares about the UK. She cares about things being done right, and done to a set of principles.
When she was in Trade and despite there being no direct benefit to her she tried to help and influence issues outside of trade. Because it was just the right thing to do for the country.
As Rishi Sunak announced the GE she took the time to come back to me on an issue we had been discussing to apologise for no longer being able to do something she said she would.
In my experience, she's smart, she's principled and she's conscientious. Most importantly she's not self serving.
She's what the Tory party needs.
When we are afraid of being Conservatives, when we stay silent, worried mostly about the views of the commentariat, we let people down.
Being afraid of speaking out or defending others is one of the reasons why we lost the last election.
I am not afraid.

Pleased to say that I’ve been recovering strongly after my lung surgery a month ago. Have had incredible love and support from family and overwhelmed by so many kind emails, letters and messages. Will be back at Westminster when the Commons returns on Tuesday 👍
West Lancs is one of the worst boroughs in the country for cllrs paying council tax late or being in arrears. What does everyone think: is it right that councillors who are in arrears (effectively in debt to the tax payer) can still claim allowances? Please vote and retweet.
