It certainly helps that Alaska approved ranked-choice voting this election. Murkowski now has much better chance to leave the GOP and still win re-election. https://t.co/GvhqKC0iIu

Hi everyone: this was me. I was sprayed in the face after we identified ourselves and presented our press passes multiple times. Media are exempt from curfew. Media are exempt from curfew.
👏🏼👏🏼 learning to say “I actually don’t know enough to have a well-informed opinion” has oddly been one of the most liberating and rewarding efforts of my life
#columbusprotests at Poplar Ave 5/30 8:10pm. ~50 people. This is before they threw a warning canister that had a woman on the ground crying for an inhaler. While she was still down they rushed in with 6 vans and deployed mass canisters to fill the alley. We were peaceful.
Odds the majority of US pop abandons social distancing within the first week of reports of case # decline..? High. Odds the virus makes a roaring comeback shortly after..? Also high. We need to think NOW about how to use scientific voices to encourage solidarity in coming months.

This a hundred times. Bridging the gap starts with a willingness to listen and truly understand the non-scientist perspective before we try to educate.
World View: “The biggest challenge in fighting misinformation? Just getting a conversation started.” @mandford writes what she learned from walking around the Minnesota State Fair with a sign that said “Ask me anything about evolution.” https://t.co/cnVoKXP9aP
I have made this point numerous times and will make it again and again. Affordable and accessible onsite daycare is a top priority to retain next generation scientists! I almost quit science because I did not have this.
